Does your dad wear glasses?  How about a home made glasses case?  Blanket stitch would be great!!
2  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Carousel Wedding Cake! on: November 09, 2009 11:20:14 AM
That is so totally awesome!!!  (and as a brit I don't normally speak that way but, wow, no other words could possibly be used!)
3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / A soap mold I made in my kitchen! No countertops were harmed! on: November 03, 2009 12:57:00 PM
It's not the prettiest of carpentry there's ever been built but by golly I did it!  It didn't take me very long and I did it this morning.  Soap making will happen tomorrow morning once the kids are in school!  I can't wait!  I hope that it's not too long and I'm interested to see if it's deep enough.  But it's probably the first wood project I've completed since I was thrown out of my woodworking class by Mr Wheeler.(I was 14....I'm now 40  Tongue )

It's still sitting on the side in my kitchen and I keep looking at it with pride!!  Yay me!  Grin

That is awesome work!  I get spooked out just having Audrey Hepburn on my wall let along serial killers!  Cheesy

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: A hum haw snowflake..... on: November 02, 2009 02:54:10 PM
hey, i think your broach is really cool! when you said someone mentioned it was huge, i was expecting HUGE, but this isn't abnormally big....dont be put off!!

i love that you made something really festive and can wear it to work. where is Bronners? and how do i get a job with santa?  Cheesy

oooh what are you gonna do with the other 99 backs? you should def do a miniture of one of your x-rated patterns, that'd be amazing  Wink

Thanks so much for your kind words!! Cheesy  Bronners is the largest Christmas store in the world and is located in Michigan.  It's well worth a trip if you're ever nearby.  Even the most hard hearted bah humbugs enjoy it!  It's huuuuuge!

And good idea about the other 99 backs.  I just need to think of something that small to put on a brooch?  Ex hubbies appendage?!! Tongue
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / A hum haw snowflake..... on: November 01, 2009 07:59:24 PM

I just recently bought 100 (now 99!) brooch backs and decided to make a brooch with a snowflake on since I work at Bronners (the largest Christmas store in the world!)  I put peoples names and dates and whatever on ornaments and I must say, as jobs go, it's pretty damn good!
Well, Leah falls down to earth when the only person that comments is the one chick with Aspergers who can't help herself and she says 'Whoa, what a huge pin!  Could it get any bigger?'!!   Embarrassed  Ummmm, thanks.....

So, here's the huge pin/brooch.  And my brooch in action with the big guy!
The beginning....lots of swearing as metallic thread is a bitch

And me with the big guy!

And if I'm sideways then I apologise......you'll just have to use your imagination as it comes out fine on flickr.  Oh and please check out my sexy red vest! Tongue

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: 3 New Political Opinion Embroidery Pieces! (healthcare, zines and ignorance) on: October 18, 2009 05:24:32 AM
Fantastic stitching!!

And as a former resident Brit I have to agree with your stitching comments about health care!  I have an ongoing discussion with a so called 'republican' who has no health care and who recently had a car accident and still can't see any problem with her situation.
