1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Necktie purse...what do you think? on: June 11, 2009 03:15:04 PM
I made a necktie purse but can't decide if I like it.
Here are some pics let me know what you think.

(The red penguin tie can also be a drawstring)

I found the penguin tie at salvation army it was so cute and random I just had to use it.

Thanks

2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Cobweb headpiece on: March 09, 2009 02:23:41 PM
OK so my dance studio is doing "A Midsummer Nights Dream" for our big production this year and one of my parts is the fairy cobweb and I really wanted to make a head piece to go with the costume.   I have an idea of what I want it to look like (Ill post a pic below) but I'm having trouble finding something to make it out of that will be seen form a distance.  I tried wire but It was hard to see, I thought maybe beads but if anyone had a better idea it would be much appreciated.  The costume is a black and purple tutu with a purple bodice.

Something like this(hope it makes sense)

If you have any ideas or questions let me know.

Thanks!!!

when you make a cozy for your mp3 player that looks like a ballet shoe!

when I read that the new challenge was to make a cozy I got really excited and decided to make one for my mp3 player and what else does every ballerina need but pointe shoes!
(just in case you where wondering pointe shoes are what ballet dancers wear in order to dance on their toes. In the pics I have the cozy next to one of my pointe shoes so you can see what it should look like)

on to the pics!

it was suppost to be a full circle but when that didnt happen I had to change it a little

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Autographed T-shirt on: August 20, 2007 10:28:32 PM
I got a shirt autographed and I don't want it to fade or bleed when I wash it and wanted to find out if there is any way of preserving it?  I was thinking of scotch guarding it but I'm not sure if that will work.

If you have any ideas thanks a lot!!!
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Old sewing cabinet with a new look on: July 20, 2007 11:56:27 AM
My great grandma gave me this old sewing cabinet but it wasn't big enough to hold all my sewing stuff so I use it to hold my dance clothes.  I wanted it to match my room so I painted it black and made a stencil of a dancer (its hard to tell in the pics but the stencil is pink)
hope you like it!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I finally made a shirt thats wearable and actually fits!!! on: April 29, 2007 05:43:17 PM
I finally made a shirt with no pattern and it fits (usually its to small or it looks ridicules)  I made the shirt and added the ribbon with sequence on the front and the straps.  The straps took me a few tries but I finally got the placement of the straps so it fits right. Anyway here it is:

We had this old sheet my dad was going to throw away and I couldn't just throw away a perfectly good sheet without cutting it to shreds and making something, so I added some ribbon and a few rhinestone and this is what I came up with. Hope you like it!!!
