Bought the supply I was missing for the larger item today, it's in the wash now and I should be able to get on it tomorrow. Still not entirely sure what the small will be yet.

I had the dates originally designed so that packages might reach recipients before Easter, but now that I've gotten sign-ups, no one has been really specifically Easter-Only. I'll extend signups by a few days, and hopefully you'll have gotten your feedback by then. And if anyone desperately wants their tiny thing for Easter, discuss early sendouts with your partner!

kbrison- that's good to know, about the tulle. As it turns out, (the whole it's a small world factor) my high school drama teacher and event committee member is actually the parent of one of the kids at my daycare. I'm definitely going to ask her if they could use it.

A classic One Tiny Thing swap! You'll be making one thing, and that thing will fit in a metaphorical box with 4x4x4 inch dimensions. Please make something you have a high skill level at, the metaphorical box should be full of something ~awesome~. It should also be full of something to chase the winter away. Flowers, baby animals, chocolate bunnies, eggs, pastels and bold bright colours: if it screams spring that's good enough for me.

craftylittlemonkey, that circus fabric is really cute!

In the first of very many cleaning steps, I moved six fabric boxes from the tiny backroom where the breaker panel is, just to check what was inside. All the cottons I moved to join with the ones already in the sewing room. There was also a box full of different fabric types of plaids, I reorganised so that they were with their own fabric types. I kept a box of interfacing and a box of tulle-- for now. I think if I don't use either in a year, I'll toss it. I'm pretty sure tulle is mostly for making skirts poof out more, which isn't really something I'm interested in.

A best friend of mine is moving home from where he was living in Saskatchewan. He and his fiancee called it off, then his ex stuck him with all the house bills. It's a pretty bad situation, and he's happy to come home. To show I'm happy he's back, I've decided to make him a quilt. It'll hardly make a dent, but it's a start. I've got the components washing now!
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Valentine's Day Tote on: March 14, 2017 04:31:17 PM
I wanted something iconically coloured, but with no actual hearts or Valentine's images, so it could be used more than one day a year.

The first thing I decided on was cool handles. This is a really thick (three inches) embroidered trim. I sewed it inside out in a loop, then topstitched it for more stability. It took about a million years to wiggle it right side out again, but the look is worth it.

The outside fabric has wave shaped pink lines:

The inside has three compartments, it's basically sewn like a W:

10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Some Bleached Tees on: March 01, 2017 08:30:45 PM
Lord of the rings isn't really my fandom, but I love the dragons ones. The speckling makes it look like they're flying through a oddly lit sky, and maybe it's just the way the shadows fall, but on the double dragons shirt the pure black on the bottom even looks like a silhouette of a forest. Very nice work!
