I've never dyed anything before, but my twelve days of christmas swap partner had a whole pinterest board of hand dyed yarn, so I thought it was time to give it a try. I used the method where you soak the yarn in vinegar, then mix different shades of food colouring and inject it with a needle-less syringe. I'm not sure if that has an actual name?
This is what I ended up with:
primarily aqua blue, bright green, fuschia and dark purple
The picture of the back side shows some of the variant colours, the lighter blues and greens
I had a bunch of fun with this project. I guess the next step is figuring out how to turn my big oval of yarn into one of those perfectly twisted cylinders you see on etsy.
