1  Re: One Tiny Book Swap - GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Ninja_Poo on: October 19, 2010 04:17:42 PM
OMG I can't believe I haven't yet posted pictures of the insanely cool Discworld themed book that Annachronism sent me!
Here's the cover, an embroidered panel of A'Tuin carrying the disc through space - so cute!

The first two pages, The left one is my favorite - I love the witches:

I think the next two pages are from 'A Hat Full of Sky" but I'm not sure - I'll have to read that book to catch up:

Freedom! Justice! A reasonable priced lover! A hard-boiled egg!:

I don't have a pic of the back but it has these really cool bee charms attached to it - reminds me of Granny Weatherwax, it does!
Thank you Annachronism - this book is so awesome!

Hurray! I received my package from Blupaisan yesterday!
Here's a picture to show you all how awesome blupaisan is:

It's a beautiful Art Nouveau puzzle!  It is just so cool! I can't wait to get some adhesive spray and a frame - this will look so good on my wall (especially since I just cleaned my room Smiley)

3  Re: Head Start Art Journal Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Ninja_Poo on: October 07, 2010 11:33:48 PM
I received my Journal from Pogo today! well technically it arrived yesterday but I got home after my Mom had gone to bed so I had no idea it was there Tongue
Warning: This journal is crazy-cool and you extreme jealousy may ensue when you see what a great job my amazing partner did!

Front cover, extras (silver Sharpie paint marker that writes on EVERYTHING!, glue stick (how did you know my last gluestick dried up?), and the cool silver and black flocked wrapping paper my journal came in:

Here are a few of my favorite pages (it was hard to choose - Pogo did an incredible job with my themes!)

Cool fashion collage bordered page:

The left page is this really cool handmade paper that Pogo's teacher made, and on the right side there is a Graffiti collage:

Neat fashion illustration cutout and page that is (correct me if I'm wrong!) painted with acrylic paint in a cool assymetric pattern.

There are many more amazing pages - I am so in awe of Pogo's work here!  The stitching is also really good!
Thank you thank you thank you Pogo!

5  Bodacious Bonnet Bonanza - Edit; now with more bonnets 9/4/10 in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Ninja_Poo on: August 23, 2010 10:38:40 PM
Thanks for clicking on this topic despite the obnoxious alliteration title XD.
First some back-story (feel free to skip):
I work in a store that sells reproductions of Victorian clothing. We carry mostly things from other vendors, but some of our products are made in-house.  My boss (the fabulous lady behind the Laughing Moon patterns  Cheesy) is currently teaching me how to make and trim bonnets.
these are all made from scratch (buckram and wire), covered in silk taffeta and decorated with new and vintage ribbons and flowers.

Without further ado, PIX:

6  Re: All Things Hayao Miyazaki Swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Ninja_Poo on: August 23, 2010 09:44:56 PM
Here is a  group shot of the wonderful goodies Dinkime sent me;
They include a beautiful set of notecards printed with images from Miyazaki images and they have cute sentiment stickers that you can attach to them.  There is also a great totoro bag (fantastic for when I borrow comics at the library!!), a very nice note and last but not least a really cool No-Face stamp!  I looove this stamP! I've already put it to good use on my art journal Smiley

7  Re: Wist Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Ninja_Poo on: December 01, 2008 11:51:37 PM
I received my package from TAOJ today, and now I have the worst swap anxieties ever!  Seriously, I have been spoiled beyond my wildest Expiration date!
Here's a Grainy webcam group-shot (better images will appear tomorrow, I just didn't get home to my package until 10:45 PM)

TAOJ made the cutest little Needle-felted bunny that I have been wanting, nay needing for the better part of a year. It is so wel-made  -it has movable arms and legs, and it has an adorable little pink heart felted onto it's furry little keister.
She also knitted me the warmest, comfiest fingerless gloves I have yet encountered! In the note that went with the package, TAOJ explained that they are knitted from a silk/wool blend - am I a lucky duck or what?
Last (But certainly not least!) TAOJ knitted an exquisite woolly cowl with the cutest bamboo (I think) buttons; this will definitely keep me warm on my 2 mile bike ride to work!

The Lighting effects are courtesy of my little sis (goes by Tasty_Fish on this board).

Thank you so much TAOJ, you are an awesome partner - I nearly cried (in a good way) when I opened my package, you really made my day!

8  Edwardian Lady Costume in Halloween Costumes by Ninja_Poo on: November 02, 2008 05:03:49 PM
For Halloween I decided to dress up as an Edwardian Lady, This came to pass with the help of Two Butterick patterns (4254 and 4954), a parasol, many hours of sewing, a few hours worth of cursing and crying, a couple hours of seam-ripping and resizing and 2 minutes worth of pinning back excess fabric with an antique-looking brooch.

10  felted sweater-lined scoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Ninja_Poo on: August 28, 2008 12:06:29 PM
I made my first ever scoodie, using vegbee's fabulous tutorial.  The lining is made from two felted sweaters, the pink one is angora and the blue one is a cashmere blend.  The outside shell is a lavender cotton-linen blend (I think) left over from a halloween costume I made 3 years ago.
Modeled by my bed:
