11  bright happy hat! in Knitting: Completed Projects by neekie on: February 27, 2007 10:46:28 PM
Once upon a time, I desired a slouchy hat. Finding some bright red yarn, I cast on right away, following tragicheroine's big blue beret pattern. Long story short, I screwed up.. (apparently it is humanly possible to mistake size 6 needles for 9s) and so my slouchy hat was modified into a normal beanie.

BORING!!!

I was miffed. No slouchy hat, instead i had a bright red but pretty darn boring hat.

So I jazzed it up.

yaaaaaaaay! pompom!

yaaaaaaaaaay! cute duplicate-stitched hearts!

I feel much better now.  Cheesy time to cast on for a slouchy hat...

12  Seed bead bracelets :) in Beads: Completed Projects by neekie on: February 10, 2007 12:24:19 AM
I made these a long time ago when i took a beading class. Thought i might share  Smiley

I made mostly bracelets, here are most of them..

I've forgotten what most of the stitches are called! If anyone can recognise them I'd like to know..  Smiley the black one is in flat peyote stitch, and the dark blue one right in the middle looks like herringbone but i remember the stitch had the word "african" in it.

close ups!

this is the one in african _______ stitch? it's my favourite.  Smiley

this was made by beading the pink parts at the side first, then joining them together in the middle with the smaller beads.

thought i'd share these here cos when i wear them nobody can comprehend the amount of squinting and jabbing myself with a needle these took! Smiley

13  Re: Clapotis from Knitty in Knitalongs by neekie on: February 08, 2007 08:12:09 AM
isisfae that's beautiful!!!!

here's mine.. SWTC bamboo in the tequila colorway (the photos of a lot of it online makes the yarn look pink and yellow, but it is actually red orange and brown) 2 skeins and a little bit of the 3rd for the decreases..

it looks a lil crooked cos i didn't pull it into shape, SWTC gives this thing a LOT of drape so yeah.. looks much better on a person  Smiley

and the close-up!

i'm so happy that this is done, i'd love to make myself a clapotis scarf out of this yarn someday but well. not now.  Smiley

14  Re: Double knitting knitalong! in Knitalongs by neekie on: February 04, 2007 02:46:36 AM
I know there are only *so* many photos of a scarf in progress that you can take before people stop believing that you are doing any actual knitting on it.. but argh, i need some encouragement! i am LOVING how my scarf is turning out so far but oh the monotony..

tada!

I thought I'd post a progress pic (to shame myself into knitting more..)

I'm using this as a chart

and this is what i've knit so far..

not much of a scarf yet  Undecided this is my first double knitting project, something tells me I shoulda picked an easier pattern (like the cute star scarf) but this is a present for my brother and he wanted a houndstooth scarf. I'm totally going to steal it and wear it all the time when it's done  Roll Eyes

16  BCBG max azria minidress in Designer Clothing Homage by neekie on: October 29, 2006 03:15:44 AM

I've never sewn a dress before, I've used a sewing machine probably less than 10 times and I normally hand sew everything that I need to. So I must be *CRAZY* in thinking "OMG that'll make the perfect little-black-dress, must have it NOW"

The dress is made from taffeta and that's about all the information I could glean from the BCBG website =\ oh well. I could gush about this dress for forever. (:

Any ideas on the construction? There aren't any images of the back, but I wouldn't want the back to be ruched as well. Hope you guys can see the picture, it's my first time trying to stick a picture on here.
