Okay, dont know if this is TRULY a recon but here it is.
Had some old pillows my mom gave us and they were truly looking bad, some worse than others. But the pillows themselves were still usable, so I got out some bandanas that I had bought and planned to use but still havent and decided to use them, with some muslim and make the pillows some nice new shams. BTW, my wife is very happy with the way they turned out, and if I do say so my self, they look very good as do the stitching (yay for myself and getting better at strait stitching!!).
Old pillows, my wife could only bring herself to picture one of them lol.
And how they look now, with the shams
My wife didnt take a picture of the backs, but I left a slot in the back that is folded over so you cant see the pillow inside. Gonna put a button on the back to help keep them closed and to bring some color to the backs of them. But the button job is my wife's since that is one thing that the sewing machine wont do and the one thing I cant do lol
Had a halloween t-shirt that didnt fit me anymore so my wife wore it. She loved it but it didnt fit her very well, so i decided to make it fit her and while i was at it, give it a hood, sleeves, and cat ears lol. The colors worked out very well, and she loves it.
Front with ears
AAAAAND another front, what can I say, I love my wife. Isnt she beautiful?
The back with hoodie laying down
Back with ears up. What do you guys think? the back needs something, unfortunatly she wont let me do a tail lol
Action Shot lol
If you cant tell, and you might not the pics arent very close, but i left the original hems ont he sleeves and sewed the black sleeves under them so it would look like the orange shirt was worn on top of a black one. Sewed it so you can move the hems and crap so it looks even better, did the same thing when I attached the hood.
Anyways, we love it, but its not compleatly done, once I find another black shirt to cut up, its cgetting a pouch *grin* no more fabric left over big enough.
I love comments so, let me know what you guys all think. Thanks!
Well, she wanted a new shirt so I dug through the old shirts waiting to be reconstructed. Found an old hand-made tie-dye and one of her shirts that didnt fit right. so what I was going to do was a cross-over top but that didnt happen and it turned into a dress. BTW, my wife LOVES it
My beautiful wife modeling her "favorite of all time" dress. Had to dart the tops a bit to hold in everything.
The side panels. The back panel is a more of a purple tie-dye like the purple on the side panel.
The pics dont show the length well since she just threw it on over her jeans, but it comes to just above the knees. Thanks for looking and I love comments (boosts the ego *shrug* what can I say)
Had an old pair of jeans that didnt fit me anymore, but they did fit my wife, unfortunatly I had already taken the legs off of it to use on my messenger bag. Had this old trippy/hippie fabric my wife got at a garage sale and decided to use it on the top of the jeans that I had left. Here's the pics, let me know what you think.
There's the front of it. I cut off the crotch area and straightened it out across the fron and the back. Then I took the fabric, rolled it over twice so it wouldnt unravel even on the inside and so it would be smooth (if there is a term for that, I dont know it lol), and sewed it under the jeans so that it looks like the jeans are on top of the skirt and so that it will unravel for a bit on top of the skirt fabric. I think that will make it look pretty damn cool, but that just me.
and how I did the butt. I wanted to do it differently but thats how it eventually turned out... oh well. Also, you cant see in the pic but the seam of the fabric is in the back and I left a slit in the fabric for leg moveability. (very technical I know My wife wasnt exactly thrilled, she says... well, lets just say what she thinks of it is a bit inappropriate for this board. But, I think it looks great, she says she will wear it even though it has a butt problem, and when we just went to drop the kids off at my parents, my mom asked her where she got it, my wife replied "Dale just got done making it, like 10 minutes ago." AND my mom couldnt believe it. Made me feel good lol, except that I got some flack from my dad. Oh well, I like to sew and make things, even if I'm not that good at it.
Well, to be honest, I didnt make this. My friend made it for me. Though, I told him how to make it and since he made it for me I hade no reason to make my own since its pretty damn cool and I really like it.
Made from a piece of crap leather from tandy leather company, one of thier 5 lb bags that are cheap, dyed black. Leather lacing to keep the metal rings on, and the metal rings are of course keyrings lmao. And the paint is I think either acrylic with water as medium or a specific leather paint, I cant be sure since the paint was all his idea.
You cants see the inside very well, but the lacing is done in a tree of life motif, which is pretty cool. And the lacing for the arms is just regular laces, nylon, from an old pair of boots.
Hope you guys like! It's easy to make, even if I didnt make this exact one lol.
One of the first things that I have sewn, besides the few odds and ends. I love it and yet I'm already wanting to remake it and make a better one lol. But yea, this is my first like post here, so let me know how you guys like it.
