I can't believe I did it! I have everything done and ready to ship out monday since the PO has closed already. now I only have 72356739245793845698473658678 more presents to finish, lol!
Me too, I've been so focussed on this swap I haven't been working on everything else and now I turn around and go, "wait, I hafta knit what in a week?" So far I've finished a Doctor Who scarf and one half of a pair of Fuzzy Feet, and have still to do 2/3 of a scarf on US4 needles, a kitty earflap hat, the last bit of edging on a shawl and oh yeah, two huge pairs of Fibre Trends clogs.
TAOJ's first package has arrived at my dad's house. He sent me a photo that I posted in my gallery, along with a pic of his "helper." It's not opened partly because I want to do it and partly because, well, you'll see . . .
recieved my package! i was in over-sized tshirt pyjamas, and considered not opening the door at the knock. i decided to, and pretty much hugged the mailman. i'm sure he was like 0.0 *why is half naked woman touching me?*
A Purolator guy came yesterday morning and I am always like, "hi, I'm going to hide everything except my head behind the door..."
As for my progress:
I am ALMOST DONE day 1! I went way past my goal on it last night, which is very exciting. Then I just have to work on 3 items for day 5 and that's it!
I'm kinda frustrated, after seeing what TAOJ wrote I checked the tracking numbers on my parcels to her. They both apparently just sat at my post office for 5 days and only yesterday got to the Ottawa distribution centre. Five business days? Pull the other one, it's got bells on. I'm going to see if I can possibly either ship Friday's package(s) on Thursday or EARLY on Friday so they get out before the cut-off time, as that may be why my other ones are taking so long.
Oh boy oh boy! I'm getting really excited about receiving now. I went back and forth about it but I had TAOJ send the packages to my dad's house in BC where I'll be for Christmas - but I'm not flying in until the 14th. My dad'll tell me when they arrive but I want to shake and inspect like you guys! I'm a little worried about sending in time but I'm sure I'll have it out by Friday. It seems like most people in this swap are being really responsible about saying when they need extra time which is good.
It seems like all the snow in the world is being dumped on Ottawa. I've shoveled twice today and my aunt shoveled again when she got home. My dad got a couple inches in BC but then it rained 100(!!!) mm overnight.
I didn't take any picture all together for the teaser gallery, but I'm going to try to remember to take one for the second shipment. The question is, will it all fit in one photo?
I went to see Enchanted after going to the post office yesterday. I LOVED it, and one of my first thoughts leaving the theatre was "hey, MissDisney would love this!" Of course I couldn't say that out loud or else I'd still be explaining to my family . . . I think the aunt I live with is getting worried. All she sees is me working on all this craft stuff and doesn't know about all the other people who are just as crazy as me.
I sent out today! I had to use two boxes but I did it. Then I came home and found part of day 12 sitting on my floor. Sigh. I'll put it in with the 2nd shipment and hopefully it'll get there in time.
In other news, I AM FINISHED WITH ESSAYS! I just have one take-home essay to do as the final exam for one course, and that's it! Tomorrow's my last day of school for the term!
I can't even believe how excited I am. I keep thinking to myself, "I can go to the video store!" A lot of my crafts for this swap couldn't be done while I watched movies, so I've been abstaining - the costs for this swap had something to do with it too. But I've gotten so many new podcasts to listen to while I craft. I've listened to almost the entire run of CraftLit, and I'm completely hooked on This American Life and RadioLab.
I'm not completely done, though. I still have to work on days 5 and 1, because I FINALLY got my supplies that were being held hostage at my aunt's house. I kid, I kid, it's just that it's taken forever to get them.
About 8 o'clock last night I decided that I should take pictures of all my crafty goodies, wrap them and get my different packages ready to ship. I got the pictures taken, went to wrap all the presents and no tape. I feel like a crafty failure. Who doesn't have tape in their house!!! So wrapping will take place tonight for shipping tomorrow I guess
Hahaha! I feel like that way too often. "I know, I will get up early and make muffins for everyone!' Then I get everything mixed in the bowl, and ooops, got everything except flour. Or eggs. Or milk.
Today I hand in 2 essays that have been rudely keeping me away from last-minute crafting. One is one of the best essays I think I've ever written, the other is only slightly better than handing in a blank piece of paper with my name on it. Ah well, you can't have it all.
I found out this morning that I don't even have a single schedule exam! I was certain I had on the 10th, but it turns out it's the other historical theory course. I just have one take-home exam! Huzzah! Now I just have to see whether I tell my parents, "uh, i screwed up . . . can we change that plane ticket?"
