ok, so there's a lot i could say about this great revamp... but i just have to say i LOVE the bookcase and the color-organized books.  It looks AWESOME!!!  and I just love the overall relaxed and chic feeling of your bedroom now.  Coming from someone who just ripped up all her carpet as well, I feel your pain.... but it's SO worth it.  Great job!
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: bad ass onesies on: July 23, 2009 08:36:03 PM
i love these... especially the Suck It one.  how awesome!  i love making onesies too... i just made a set for pair of twin boys - one has pacman and a couple dots, the other has a couple dots and a ghost, so when you sit the babies next to each other......... ah-ha!

i really like the tree too... super sweet.

Sorry, I'm just seeing this now... I started grad school and it's been far too long since I've been on Craftster!  Boo!!

Anyway, to answer your question about the perforation, I bought a perforation blade for my rotary cutter and did it that way.  It was so super easy.  And don't worry about "stealing" any ideas... that's what things like Craftster are for... inspiration, inspiration, inspiration!!!

Good luck!  And let me know if you have any other questions.  I promise to be on more now that classes are over for the summer!   Cheesy
5  COOKING / Dessert / Dessert Sushi on: July 11, 2009 09:58:00 AM

dessert sushi! sugar sushi!  candy sushi! Whatever you wanna call it, it's yumm-o and super fun to make. I made these for a party this week and they were a big hit!

I found inspiration for these little pretties years ago at not martha http://www.notmartha.org/tomake/hostesssushi/, but had forgotten all about them until recently, when I also found great posts at Evil Mad Scientist http://www.evilmadscientist.com/article.php/DessertSushi and cucumbersomehttp://cucumber-some.blogspot.com/2008/02/faux-sushi.html. Pardon the tres horrible photos... my kitchen has awful lighting.

Here's a list of supplies I used:

    * Twinkies
    * Zingers (Those raspberry Twinkie-like things with coconut on the outside)
    * Ladyfingers (SO glad I ran into these in the bakery; they worked awesome)
    * Marshmallows
    * Vanilla icing
    * Shredded coconut
    * Fruit Roll-ups/Fruit by the Foot (Good luck finding green; it wasn't as easy as I'd hoped)
    * Some sugary sour apple rope stuff (dunno, found it in the candy store)
    * Swedish Fish-like knockoffs
    * Dried fruit & nuts (mango, pineapple, pumpkin seeds, choc. covered sunflower seeds)
    * Colored nonpareils

I'd highly encourage you to give these a shot. They were pretty easy once you do a couple and wicked fun to make; not to mention shopping for all the "forbidden" sweets! You can totally let your imagination go crazy with ingredients, combinations, and presentations. Have fun!

These little babies were my personal favorite (probably cause they had the most icing!). I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised at how good everything tasted all together. I confess, many fish were harmed in the making of this recipe.  Grin

how did you make the tags on your bubble favors?

I designed them in Illustrator, printed off a few sheets of them onto cardstock and then just lined them up and punched them out carefully with my 1.5" circle punch.
 Smiley  Hope that helps.
