61  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / thrifty NON-ACRYLIC yarn on: August 25, 2004 05:32:00 PM
on my latest trip to Ye Ole Thrift Shoppe, i found two loverly sweaters made out of this faboo silk/cashmere yarn (it's really fine).  they were so very delicious that i had to buy them (paid $4 for both) and brought them home to tear apart.
i'm think this will be a swell way to expand beyond acrylic yarns into more lucious ones, and not have to sell off my first born to do it!
i've not finished the yarn yet, but be warned if you try this:  IT IS NOT A SPEEDY PROCESS!!!!!  the time it is taking nearly rivals the amount of time i would have to spend to spin roving into yarn myself....but the money i'm saving is totally worth it...i checked up on yarn prices, and to get a tiny little skein of comparable yarn--ONE SKEIN--would cost $25!!
