My mom has wanted me to knit her a sweater since I learned how to knit (circa fifth grade, when we were still living in Seattle). So when I was 11 or 12, I went to my lovely then-LYS (Acorn Street - it rules) and bought a bunch of dark olive-green coloured wool-alpaca yarn (well-suited to the Seattle rain and cold winters, not so much for sunny San Diego where we now reside). Over the years (note: I'm now 17) there were many sweater patterns, including Sonnet (also a knitty.com pattern). Around two weeks ago, school got out, and I wanted to do something cool this summer besides obsess over Harry Potter and watch my friends get really, really sunburned.
So I knitted a sweater! Knitty's Eiffel, to be exact, although I did leave off pretty much all of the patterning - none of the lace rib or 3x4 rib for me!
I knitted the smallest size on size 7 circular needles, since the pattern's yarn was thin hemp.
My mom didn't want her face to be on the internet, so I replaced her head with Shahrukh Khan's, her favourite Bollywood actor. She doesn't know this.
Without further ado...
