madidancer121 sent me such awesome things!

first a super soft blue scarf! I have a sort of obsession with scarves, and its strange becuase i live in so cal- but i have a scarf collection that would put most cold climate dwellers to shame.

and she sent me this adorable crocheted tomato pin cushion! my puppy keeps trying to steal it, apparently he thinks its cute too.

and a bunch of hot chocolate!

and some itty bitty tiny little paper cranes! I think i will string them into a christmas ornament.

thanks madison!! you rock!

6  Red and Aqua Small Budget Wedding!*PIC HEAVY* New Pictures added 10-2-10 in Weddings and Bridal Showers by pantsafari on: June 19, 2010 07:46:13 PM
So My wedding is In September of 2010. And our budget is TINY. My fiancee was laid off from his job just over a year ago, and has been in school since. We decided to get married despite the circumstances. Thankfully I'm doing a lot of DIY with help from my mom. I plan to make my dress, and do all the bouquets myself. I will be updating periodically as I make more things, but heres a start.  (questions, comments and criticisms are always welcome!)

My husband and I, after the i do's. I made my dress, total cost 200$

Here is me with my bridesmaids- we made all of the bouquets from supermarket flowers- total cost including ribbon, wire and floral tape 35$

First off- My wedding guest book- an 8x8 scrapbook ($5) with pages I made myself (paper and supplies $6) total cost- $11

I wanted people to be able to sign more than just their name. there are 20 pages and they are all different!

Next is the cake knife and server. I didnt want to spend much on these, since no one ever notices them or remembers them, but they do show up in pictures. the knife and server were both from a dollar store ($2) and the ribbon was $1.50- total cost plus tax? about $5

bow detail

Up next- pew decorations for the church. Three red fake flowers tied with ribbon. these will be on the pews with the traditional tulle swag. all supplies from the dollar tree, total cost (including the extra flowers and ribbon becuase I cant count: $15

and my necklace- not made by me, I bought it on etsy!

I finished the ring bearer pillows. they are satin (remnants from my dress) embroidered at work (I work for an embroidery comapny) and stuffed with stash. total cost? 0$ There are two becuase I have two nephews- only one will have the actual rings on his pillow.

My fiancees ring will be tied on the other end of the string- only mine is tied on in the picture.

7  Re: FrugALong 2010 in Craftalongs by pantsafari on: June 18, 2010 05:47:42 PM
Hey Im actually getting a frugal friday project in! Heres pictures of my crafted Wedding guest book.

The album itself is purchased, but this is what it looks like.

and here are two pictures of pages on the inside that I made.

I wanted guests to be able to write a message or whatever instead of only having space to sign their name.
all of the supplies cost me $11. and I will end up with extra paper and stuff that I can use for other wedding crafts. My mom said that the only guest books she could find were about 10$ and they were either really ugly or just boring.

So I dont read the board for two days and come back to 5 pages to read...sheesh!

Well, I missed frugal friday (technically) BUT im still posting my frugality. I made a skirt from a vintage tablecloth and stash fabric for my future SILs baby shower (which is today)

the pictures are terrible- My dear sweet love of my life was being crabby last night and wouldnt take pictures of me LOL. that and it was a million degrees in my apartment.

Its basically a square tablecloth with fabric added to the bottom and cut into a circle skirt, and it has a basic elastic waist. super easy and quick- and cost me waaay less than the one I coveted on etsy for ages (before someone else bought it and made me sad)

9  Re: Mexican Kitsch Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by pantsafari on: June 01, 2010 06:57:55 PM
Alright everyone- I know its been a while, but I wanted to post pictures of what I sent for TheNorm02 in her swap package. As some of you know, she was flaked on (on her first swap!). She received a while ago, so Im posting up pictures!

I made her a charm bracelet with charms of saints and shell beads (shells have religious symbolism in Catholicism.)

here is a closeup

I also decorated some hand towels with Lady of Guadalupe fabric (I made some day of the dead ones for Craftygurll, and I liked how they turned out so much, I made some for Norma also!)

And I made a purse featuring Our Lady of Guadalupe, Inspired by one on her wist.

and here is a closeup
