1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / custom hoodie help on: March 18, 2008 07:38:07 PM

i have had somebody commission this hoodie from me.

i figured that the body and sleeves are a basic zip hoodie with ribbed cuffs, which i can probably handle.  instead of a zipper, i will extend the front half a bit and put toggle buttons.

the pockets can be fake.  i dont have patience for pockets.

what i need help with is the hood!  does anybody know of a similar pattern for a hood.  like that?  any advice? (close up picture!)

if anybody can find me a similar fabric, i have been looking all over!  it seems like its a heavy twill, but it needs to be a similar stripe.  any fabric sites that i could check?

i cut out a square, but suppose a slit would be more effective.

you really do deserve a multitude of replies for this piece. it's wonderful. it's almost vintage-circus in that you've cut this young lady in half, but she's still together! I'm so inspired by stuff like this.

aww thank you.  i am really happy with this one.  ive got a bunch more i just finished that i'll up load when i get a chance.  basically i just realized that like in order to get a few good pieces you have to just sit and make 5 or so that are just alright.

inspired by a diptych, or two paneled piece of art....

pieces are attached with eye hooks (the best finding ever)

picture is cut out from a vintage children's storybook

made with wood, and modpodge
