11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / recycled book of recycling art on: February 16, 2010 02:46:58 PM
yeah, i couldnt figure out what else to call it lol Smiley  my in laws get the nespaper delivered everyday, so there is always a huge stack of newspapers in their laundry room. i frequently use the newspapers as a paint palate, , but then the paper justs gets thrown out afterwards....and i have a habit of using too much paint and i dont like to be wateful......soooo, i sat down for a couple of hours and made this huge book out of newspaper.  i'm using it as a paint palate, and am creating abstract art pages with the paint that is left over from the current project.  its also a great place to doodle on top of the paint. its a fun way to reuse commonly thrown out materials, and when its all full, i'll have a coffee table book of original abstract paintings.
i took some in the process pics if anybody wants a tutorial.

14  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / labrynth themed altered book on: February 08, 2010 10:30:12 PM
i am in the labrynth swap, and my partner received today, so i wanted to show off the altered book that i made her. it follows the storyline of the book!

heres the front

this is the beginning where shes roleplaying in the park

this is when sara first meets the goblin king

and shortly after shes entered the labrynth, she meets the worm "ello"

this represents the scene with the fireies that try to take her head off

the bog of eternal stench "smell bad"

the ballroom scene

and the end where the stairs are falling apart as she falls

please let me know what you think!

17  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / how much paper does it take to be considered a paper craft? on: January 26, 2010 08:46:09 PM
i'm currently working on an altered book for a swap.... its mostly art, but there are also several paper bits included. i was getting very excited about posting it when i'm finished, but then i got confused as of where to post it.
so then i wanted to know what every body thought about how much paper it takes to be classified as a paper craft. what do you think?
18  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / vintage love on: January 24, 2010 12:51:57 AM
when i sat down to make this, i had in mind finding a small jewelry box that belonged to a great great aunt while she was young and in love with a soldier away at war.

the secret inside, hidden by the picture is a necklace, ring, key, and a stack of love notes.  i made each envelope, and each one has a letter inside.
