1  self portrait gone zombie in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by morglanc on: September 02, 2010 11:52:37 AM
hi everyone! its been forever since i've been able to do any art. my husband and i bought a house and i'm still getting my art space put together. i was able to carve a couple of hours into my schedule to paint....man did that feel good.  i originally started this as a glamorous overly pretty self portrait, but something happened along the way and this is what came out. please let me know what you think, good or bad! i'd love to hear what you think about the shading and backround texture.....anything really. i'm always trying to improve

2  Re: Wall Art Swap in The Swap Gallery by morglanc on: May 24, 2010 09:19:51 PM
Angry  so i have to start this post out with a huge apology to my partner pupper. she sent me an amazing piece of wall art, and i am unable to get a decent picture of it.  my camera was stolen while i was at work, and all i have is a very poor quality cell phone camera.  so i am posting a very dark blurry picture of what she sent.  please know that this is actually a beautiful dramatic statement piece in a gorgeous frame.

3  art doll for girls birthday in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by morglanc on: May 16, 2010 07:20:18 PM
i've been posting my art dolls in the more arts less crafts board, but i got to thinking that this would be a more appropriate place for them.  a friend of mine has commissioned me to make one of my dolls for her daughter who is turning 14. she said that shes liked my style and to make one similar. my dolls tend to be really fragile, so i tried to make one that would be a little more sturdy since she'll probably be keeping it in her window sill.
please let me know what you think! i'm kind of nervous about showing it to her tomorrow.

here it is in its packaging

dreadlocklove sent me this wonderful package with a spa theme!
7 luscious bars of handmade soap, several bath fizz balls, a large tub of home made face exfoliater, hand made chapstick(heavenly), a beeswax candle, a soap saver bag, and four dryer balls. everything is made so well, i feel so spoiled!

thank you again dreadlocklove! its been awesome being your partner. i hope your as happy with what i sent as i am with what you did.

i made this for my partner in the wall art swap.  its very textured and glittery, but the pictures dont show that very well. it was made with acrylic paints, patten paper, and glitter. i'd love to hear what you think!

6  paper bag book...now with tutorial in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by morglanc on: April 20, 2010 06:12:34 PM
i made this book out of lunch size paper bags.  the cover is made with cardstock and felt.  i've painted a base on the pages, but i havent decided what im going to use it for yet.  let me know what you think!

this is my first tute, so if i need to elaborate on anything, please let me know!

1.  take your paper bags and fold them. the bottom part of the bag is what gets folded up. make sure that your folding it so that the side that has open flaps is in the inside.

2. you take two bags that have been folded, and glue the folds together.

3. once you have to sets of the above, you glue them back to back

it should look like this

4. you continue those steps until your book reaches the desired thickness. the last step before the cover is  to take a single bag folded like the others, and glue its back to the top page, and one to the back page. the flap is where the cover will be attached.

8  my first art doll in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by morglanc on: March 26, 2010 05:38:33 PM
the lovely miss foxyblue inspired me to make an art doll. mine is made out of air dry clay and wire.  this was a lot of fun, and i'll probably be making more. let me know what you think!
i never really know where to post things like this, but i figure my doll is more of a piece of art than a plaything, and it isnt made with real or polymer clay. but let me know if i should post things like this elsewhere.
