this is the card i made for our one year anniversary a couple weeks ago...



it looks pretty valentines-y though.

okay, so i made this for my boyfriend when i moved away to college. we now live 4 hours apart and it sucks...so i made this for him. it's a "survival kit" containing everything he needs for when i'm gone.

2 mix cds containing music that i like, but that he doesnt really care for...just because i know he thinks it's hilarious when i sing at the top of my lungs to some song he thinks is dumb. haha. there are a few that he likes too though.


a love letter, so he never can forget the way i feel about him and how much he means to me:

and the little thing to the far right, at the "base" of the pull out thing...the page opens up for a personal message

i actually just did this as a random gift "just because" but it's definitely valentines worthy.

okay i know the picture sucks....the coloring is so much different in person (deep red felt with contrasting black stitching all the way around" but i made a plush puzzle out of felt. there is one big piece that i stitched "you" onto, and the rest are just little indistinct pieces that take forever to piece together (mwhaha)




oh and here's the poem i wrote that i put in the box
"this box contains a little gift

i'm really bad at rhyming
so just bare with me for a bit

i know it's a cheesy poem, and i really suck at writing stuf flike that, but it went over GREAT with the boyfriend. so if anyone wants to use it, feel free to.


[note: the box that the puzzle is in was another random box from a different gift and we just figured out this weekend that the puzzle randomly fits perfectly into the box! weird!

So, this past weekend i went home and demanded that my boyfriend get out everything i've ever made for him, so i could take pictures, so i could post of crafster. lol.

so here's the first....this idea is in no way original to me, but it was of my own design.

i'm not gonna post all the inside pages...but i made hearts that spell out "i love you with all my heart" and took the hearts to places that meant something to us...or to him, and took pics.

then inside (back): the top is lyrics from a ben kweller song and the part that says happy valentines day opens up to display a more personal message.

okay, so i live in a dorm, and candles are a big NO. and well, for v-day, i was going to create a cute little romantic setting in here for my boyfriend and i and i want there to be dim lighting like candles would provide. is there any other alternative? particularly one that is not very costly?

My roommate and I have a VERY small dorm room, so there isnt room for seating. Well the other day, we bunked our beds....so now we have this huge expanse of space for all sorts of seating possibilities. WELL, i thought "hey, we could get a futon, so our friends don't have to sleep on the floor when they stay over" so i started searching for futons and found out that they are stupidly expesive.

so, i'm wondering if there was a way i could MAKE my own futon without it looking like crap.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Or just making a couch or anything. There was a pretty cool couch in readymade's last issue...but it was a bit pricey to make. I could maybe improvise a few things but I just wondered if anyone had any better ideas. prferrably futon related.

okay...so i'm making an ornament for my boyfriend and me for "our first christmas" and i found this really cool plain clear glass one that opens up (as you can see below)...but i don't know how to decorate it!! painting is pretty much out of the question because i'm TERRIBLE at it. also...my mom said i should etch the glass. but i have no clue how to do that...and i'm pretty low on cash.

any ideas would be sooo greatly appreciated!

okay...so for part of my advent calendar that some of you may have seen recently...one of the days includes us making hot chocolate and stuff.

so bought these two mugs. and i want to personalize them... i thought of using rub-on letters and stuff...but those wouldnt hold up with washing?

basically i need idea that would be waterproof. is there some kind of (cheap!) waterproof sealant i could put over anything i put on the cups?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
