1  knit crown in Knitting: Completed Projects by jayamaree on: May 28, 2010 12:19:56 PM
Yesterday I downloaded the "Loved" pattern via knitpicks and finished it this afternoon.

My five-year-old is completely in love with it (she plans on sleeping with it on tonight). I just wanted to share because it's so cute and could be a really cute quick gift for a kiddo in your life.

2  pillows for my couch in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by jayamaree on: May 23, 2010 12:12:54 PM
So I had sad brown pillows, I still love them cause they are feather pillows and are still squishy-soft and I bought them on sale many years ago. However, I have kids, three kids so they are stained and ugly so I decided to make slip covers for them.

I'm also trying to bust my stash so I used a twin sized flat bed sheet (blue) and the black n' white silky fabric was something I had bought years ago in hopes of making a dress (never going to happen) for 1.50 a yard on clearance.

My kids are fighting over the one that's entirely silky. I have one more pillow to do and am completely out of ideas. I guess maybe half silky-half blue. I actually have a lot of the sheet left!

ETA I figured out how to cover the 4th pillow, I had made a throw out of our old blue jeans a couple of weeks ago and have a lot of scraps left (I never throw anything away...) so I made the pillow out of that and used the blue for the back. It doesn't really go with the other ones but I like it well enough. The throw is in the back of this picture...

4  Re: 2009 Holiday Handmade Crusade :: (December Theme Page 1) in Craftalongs by jayamaree on: December 22, 2009 07:39:00 PM
I finished all my xmas stockings, made soap for my older two kids, still working on my mom's purse...

photographic evidence:

I also made my very first pumpkin roll!! And it's Gluten Free!! Holla!

However it just hit me that I didn't make anything for my 15-month old and I'm having some SERIOUS guilt over it. So now I feel like I need to figure out something to make her in the next oh...24 hours.

alright here's what I sent out, unfortunately my partner is MIA so I decided to post the package I put together. I shoved as much as I could in the stocking but not everything fit.

all boxed up

the goods

A knit scarf, knit hat, knit stocking, knit mittens, 2 knit xmas ornaments, a puzzle, boxing santa pen, dvd, wooden snake toy, a webkinz, horse puzzle, a spoil of owl ribbon, there was also several packages of tea.

I was super happy with how everything turned out, especially the mittens. I'm definitely going to make myself a pair.

7  stockings in Winter Holidays by jayamaree on: October 26, 2009 10:01:32 AM
I've finished stockings for my three kids. I need to make two more (for me a hubs) but I was so excited to get the kid's done I had to post.

I let go of my perfectionism and allowed each of the kids to pick their own colors. Oldest picked orange, middle girlie picked blue, and they picked purple for the baby (she's 1). I think they turned out so cute and I'm so glad I let them pick their colors.

8  another yarn wreath in Winter Holidays by jayamaree on: October 26, 2009 09:44:05 AM
I'm really happy with how it turned out, of course it I get to looking at it too long I see some spots that could use some work but I've decided that I'm DONE.

I used a wire wreath form and wired everything to the wreath with floral wire.

9  help! in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by jayamaree on: September 30, 2009 09:28:31 AM
My grandma gave me a box from an estate sale full of crochet stuff (i don't crochet) i ended up giving most of it away but I held on to these, I have no idea what they are or what to do with them but I can not just toss them, someone made these, and I don't need to go into this with you all cause I know you understand but what do I do with them?

10  Re: Christmas 2009, what are you making? in Winter Holidays by jayamaree on: August 19, 2009 11:51:53 AM
Well this year I'm for sure making Christmas stockings. I finished one already, as a practice in non-wool yarn. These ones will be of wool and I will wrap them in tissue paper every year and pack them up with cedar (at least that is the plan).

This is my practice one (i just wanted to see if i could do it before I spent $$ on the yarn I actually wanted to make them in)

IF i have time after I make those (just got the wool in the mail today for them) I would like to make my oldest daughter a bed for her American Girl Doll (18in doll) out of the doll's box.

If I make something for DD I need to make things for my other two children as well. I try to make them something every year, last year I knit them donuts for their play kitchen (which they share) however at that time my youngest daughter was only 3 months old so she didn't care at all.

Everyone else is getting store-bought stuff cause they aren't really into crafting and I don't have time :-) At least it makes my list shorter.

I'm also working on an afghan for MYSELF errr my family, well it will live on the couch.
