1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Whats the best way to start making this doll? on: December 08, 2006 05:45:42 PM
I decided to make a plush doll for my best friend as a birthday present. Thing is, I have no idea where to start. Here is an example of what I want to do:

I want to make a doll of Ryan Ross from Panic! at the disco. Specifically, this picture, with the rose vest.

-Where would I start? Do I need a pattern? Is there a pattern for making plush dolls?
-How would I go about making his hair? His clothes?

Any and all help is very much appreciated. You guys have no idea how much this will mean to her.
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / I need some advice! on: September 22, 2006 01:00:02 PM
Quick questions:

This is my first time stenciling (yay for newbies!), and I have a couple of questions.

-How would you go about cutting out the following stencils? Which parts do I cut out?

Do I have to carefully cut out his tatoos as well? Not the best for a beginner like me?  Huh

What about these?

I read a tutorial that confused the crap out of me, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question =)

Last question: fabric markers instead of fabric paint? I want to use them on a shirt with one of the stencils above. Will it look unprofessional?

Thanks a bunch!  Tongue
