1  Re: Burlesque Swap : The Gallery in The Swap Gallery by sarahpanda on: June 12, 2009 11:40:09 AM
Okay kids, Smashu is super-busy with a burlesque show so I'm posting a few pics of her swap package. Hopefully she can model the pasties for us later, rawr!!!

Here is most of the swap package, except the embroidery: A pirate hat with a boa, pirate pasties, matching eye patch, and jurassic park pasties. Please ignore the cluttered desk, I took these at work. Tongue

Pasties and eyepatch. Sorry for the bad lighting, courtesy of my desk.

Scaly pasties for the Jurassic Park show.

This is the embroidery. It's meant to be a wall-hanging, the fabric is actually stretched over a sticky posterboard thing. I know the photo is dark, and this is after lightening it in picnik! LOL!

Here's a closeup of the dancer. I'm so proud of how she turned out! Many of you will recognize that she's a Sublime Stitching pattern, I'm sure. Smiley

Well hopefully Miss Smashu will be able to post better "action" shots of these items soon...

Thanks for looking!

OMG that Dr. Orpheus is AMAZING!!!!

I am a lucky panda and even though I'm waaaay behind on my crafting, The Platypus Project went ahead and sent me my swap package. I cannot tell you how excited I was when I received it--I was squealing so much my coworkers (I have my swap packages sent to my work) came to check on me. LOL

Even the packaging was cute! And tarepanda candy! YEAH!!!

Shrinky necklaces!

Naturally the Brock necklace is my fave *swoon*

Phantom Limb on a purse!!! The embroidery is awesome!

Didn't I say it was awesome?!!! I would totally date Phantom Limb. He really knows how to treat an arch-villainess.

This is a skirt, with a painting of Brock and Molotov, my favorite love-interests. Tomorrow I will be able to have someone take a pic of me wearing it. It's quite possibly my favorite thing in the whole package...if I had to pick a favorite. Which would be hard.

T-shirt top...

T-shirt bottom. The fabric paint looks great Platypus!! Once again I need to get a pic of me wearing this stuff. I hope I get to go to a convention of some sort this summer so I can show off my awesome Grand Galactic Inquisitor shirt.

And there was a tarepanda pin in the bag of candy. Soooo cuuuuuute.

Gah so much awesome stuff! THanks Platy, I am working on your stuff this weekend and it's going to be hard to send you a package as amazing as the one you sent me!!!

Wow, sorbetsurprise did a GREAT job!

I was totally spoiled by smashu!  She made everything with a harlequin theme!

Harley-style hat with pistol-shaped purse!

Hat closeup!

"Bang!" coin purse, which attaches to the end of the pistol!

My favorite part: SPAAAATS!!!

SPAAAAAAAAAATS!!!!

Thank you so much smashu! I have to finish your package this week, I'll send it just as soon as I can! I feel like I could never come up with something as great as what you sent me, but I'm trying!! Smiley

I received from Tsubomi_chan last night! Here are the goodies:

Tea (I love these boxes, they're so useful!), a vintage tin of thread, a corset pincushion, and a cute origami crane.

Tea wallet and pincushion...both are beautifully embroidered!

Inside the tea wallet...This is my favorite item! I will carry it with me wherever I go and have yummy tea instead of the crappy kind they serve in restaurants! I will now officially be a Tea Snob! LOL!

This is a rather crummy picture of the shirt. It has a corset on it! Now I can wear a corset whenever I like without needing someone else to lace me up! I'll try to take a better pic later when I have someone else to help me....

Thanks Tsubomi_chan! And thanks to Lady_Frog for organizing!

6  Firefly fans, prepare to drool!!! in The Swap Gallery by sarahpanda on: October 03, 2008 02:34:02 PM
Ariaya's swap package was 100% worth the wait!!! She honed in on my love of Firefly and I could not be happier!

And now, photos of the SHINY:

Part 1--postcards, framed art, and a beautiful notebook!

The notebook cover says "Serenity" in Chinese!

Inside is the most beautiful fabric, with a frame from the first issue. In the back ariaya put the lyrics to the theme song!

The framed cover!

The awesome postcards!!!!

This one's my favorite, I love River Tam!

Part 2 of my goodies--free comics (yay!), Serenity patches for my own use, and a pattern for a Firefly scarf (that totally looks like something Innara would wear!) and a ball of yarn (in a color that Innara would wear! LOL).

And I saved the best for last....

Part 3 is an AWESOME bag! It's really beautiful and well made...

...and all my other swap stuff fits in it so neatly!

Thank you so much Ariaya! I hope my packages arrive safely if they haven't already and that you love everything as much as I love this stuff! You are a great swap partner!!!

Since ScotSkipper402 has a hard time posting pics, here are the ones I took of the items I made for her Brenda Starr doll before I shipped!

Crochet bikini with matching bag!

A coordinating sarong made from hand-dyed batik!

A pink sundress with vintage lace trim!

A zebra-print suit with matching clutch, a coordinating necklace and some makeup from a Teen Trends set!

Sculpey yellow cake and strawberries, yum!

I would really like to see pics of Brenda wearing this stuff, alas. I hope it all fits and that she likes cake!

Awww that sailor suit is so darling! What a great idea to have outfits made for an old cherished dolly!

And mom2blu, in answer to your question about my Ellowyne Wilde, she takes fantastic pictures. Seriously, she is pretty in person but she lights up in front of a camera! In these pics she is actually leaning against the railing on my balcony. She comes with a stand with a clear base though, here's a pic of her on her stand with the suitcase:

9  Mr. Funky Monkey! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by sarahpanda on: September 11, 2008 04:05:04 PM
Made for a friend! I made his button eyes out of sculpey. The yarn is Vanna's Choice--I went with acrylic because my friend has allergies and I'm too poor to buy nicer yarn!

I think he turned out pretty cute! The pattern was from the book Mr. Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful, which is one of my favorite pattern books.

Scotskipper402 is a FANTASTIC swap partner!!!!! I got my goodies yesterday and immediately went through everything oohing and aahing, and showing the little clothes to my boyfriend (who courageously feigned interest). Isobel is definitely thrilled! There were more items than I could even take pictures of in the short amount of time I have before my camera uses up its batteries, so these are Isobel's favorite items, but hardly all of the package!

And now to the photos!!!

 Grin
Melissa I love love love the sweaters and the jeans, and the suitcase made from an altoids tin! How clever! I can't get over the amount of stuff you sent--it's all so cute!! Thank you, and I hope you like what I sent you, I feel like it is not nearly up to par!

And thank you mom2blu for organizing, you did a great job!
