1  a little bit of clay... in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by polkadotbug09 on: June 12, 2008 12:07:12 PM
so these are my first clay pieces (other than pinch-pots)
i guess bananas and sunflowers remind me of SUMMER Smiley

(tomato for scale)

the sunflower (it has a whole in the back so hopefully it can hang)

I made some other things in the class, but will not get them until next year because they are glazed, these are just painted, in "dry-brush"
hope you enjoy... comments welcome Smiley
have a nice day

2  Re: mag bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by polkadotbug09 on: October 12, 2007 02:22:18 PM
Okay- here it is the tute for the tote bag. It may be very hard to see, I've never posted a tute before, excuse the spelling, Its made in paint. If you have any questions I would be happy to try to help. Good luck! and please post pictures of completed projects, I would love to see them!!!

Also there are lots of color schemes you can try. I used rainbow across and random up and down. It helps if you use some white with black writing to keep it from being to bright.

A friend did it in black and white (think checkerboard) which looked pretty amazing, my next project! I think my sis may be getting one for her birthday in her favorite colors!

Hope it works out to be your new favorite purse! Don't hesitate to ask I the tute may not be the best.

well i got around to making another bag with some friends. This time we used contact paper. don't try using packaging tape, it rips badly during sewing. the strips are from magazines i used a paper cutter to slice them in half before folding the edges both in twice, this gives you a strong flexible sheet. Each panel uses approx 14 strips, but the strips vary in size.
the inside, my first pocket ever!
this one is very different than the clutch i made earlier but holds a ton more!
sorry this one is upside down!
a friend made this i like the black and white!

6  P.B Teen inspired wall art in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by polkadotbug09 on: August 21, 2007 12:02:56 PM
I saw this lovely idea in PB Teen a few months ago and really liked it unfortunately i don't have 200 some dollars for a shutter. So I made my own. I bought a used shutter, painted it to match my curtains. Added cork board to the top half and used a caulk gun on the back of the bottom half to keep things from sliding through. Unfortunately unless the paper is really stiff they flop over, I'm hoping to get some "S" hooks to hang stuff as well as spray paint the binder clips.
Of course the things on the shutter aren't color coordinated like the inspiration.

comments always welcome!

7  mag bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by polkadotbug09 on: August 21, 2007 11:55:04 AM
I've seen some bags made from woven magazine pages and decided to make my own. It is lined and snaps shut. Its big enough to hold phone, ipod, money & gum not much else. I'm hoping the paper will not fall apart when i use it.

comments very welcome!

8  summer stripe clutch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by polkadotbug09 on: May 26, 2007 12:19:32 PM
Well I loved this clutch http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=24610.0 and decided it would be a great spring/summer bag. I had some pink/white fabric in my stash and a great thrift store find (the white and blue lining) Its worked great as a pencil bag at school and for sunglasses and chapstick for weekends. thanks to laurasaurus for the great tute. feedback welcome.

Your eggs look great! My family also dyed eggs today. We have done the traditional designs before but today we did silk-tye-died eggs and also did a few Ukrainian eggs. here are some of my family's. The one I did is the blue egg that has a dove on it.
