1  Re: Halloween Swap 2008 Gallery of Spooky Goodness in The Swap Gallery by x0xmanda on: October 10, 2008 01:19:24 PM
so i got my package last night! if any of you read my post over in the original thread, i'm sure you know how excited i am.

I quote Tero: "There is a bit of a generation gap going on but I am always looking for adopted daughters to spoil."

And spoil she did.

the whole bunch. a halloween teddy bear, a knit/crochet (i'm sorry, i dont know haha!) bag, which i think is made partly from recycled materials, a green paper lantern that i believe Tero jazzed up a bit with some gorgeous beaded trim, scrap spider fabric (<3!!), a pumpkin pincushion, a headband, and a spider pin. oh, and lots and lots of fun extras... plastic rings, shoe charms, erasers, skulls.. ah!  Grin

take a look at the inside of the bag. adorable owl fabric and the cutest pocket i've ever seen. Its an owl with bead eyes! Love it!

and uhm, can we go back to that headband for a minute?

the fact that i'm putting such an unflattering photograph of myself online here is proof of how much i love it. you'll be pleased to know, Tero, that it got lots of compliments at school today!

d'oh! i forgot to take closer pictures of the pincushion. it was super creative though, a little ceramic jackolattern stuffed, the top hole where i'll put my pins.

what a wonder swap! Thanks soooo much Tero, you're the best.

... if there is such a thing  Cheesy
i made this for my friend's 17th bithday party. She's really into the emo thing right now, and much as it doesnt make me happy, she likes it. so i figured just this once, for her birthday, i'd indulge her.
anyway, i whipped this up in about an hour and half before my plane ride (which was delayed 2 hours and took 7 hours additionally in the plane... supposed to be 2 hours. UGHHH WINTER WEATHER)

its reversible too!

and her wearing it

i was a little uncertain if she'd like it, cuz she got a couple hoodies and other stuff all from hottopic, and mine was crappily made by me Sad but she wore it all night so i think i was successful.
oh and i made her cake! he's getting candle acupuncture in this picture  Wink

what do you think?
happy holidays everyone!

5  ADULT- Raccoon! in Halloween Costumes by x0xmanda on: November 03, 2007 04:56:13 PM
This was an EXTREMELY last minute costume... i mean, i finished sewing on the ears about 10 minutes before heading out.
hence, its pretty simple. I took a black IU sweatshirt i had, and turned it inside out so there were no words. i sewed and painted the ears, sewed and painted the striped on the tail, stuffed it with socks, and attached it to the bottom of the hoodie. then i sewed the ears on. finally i just put on some raccoon-y makeup! and fishnets... i mean, halloween is the only time i can get away with that!  Tongue onto the pictures!

uhoh, my ear flopped down!

happy halloween and happy crafting!!

6  bear, mummy, or something else? in Halloween Costumes by x0xmanda on: October 25, 2007 07:44:32 AM
Hey all!

I, like many of you, am a little stuck for costume ideas. i found this bear costume that someone on here posted last year, im sorry i cant remember the username Embarrassed, which i might make

but maybe i want to be a mummy.... similar length dress, ripped dirty sheets/gauze, etc.

but i also want to be something pretty where i oculd wear nice makeup. i'd make it and want it to be kinda different/original/easy cuz i dont have much time!

ideas?? thanks!

7  Re: Fall/Winter Scarf Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by x0xmanda on: October 23, 2007 06:40:30 PM
oh and i too received, from lelila
i decided to stop being lazy and waiting for batteries to come around and just took some more on my moms camera. So, behold the loveliness!

woohoo crappy mirror shots. beautiful scarf though!!

a little hard to tell in the pics, but its cable-knit (i think thats what you call it... eh, i'm no knitter Cheesy)

i also got soap! i was pleasantly surprised that they were cute hearts and not just a square bar, as i had thought, so i went like this...

thats my "Awww" face. attractive, i know. the colors in the pictures are a little strange-- the scarf really brings out the blues and golds in my eyes!

Finally, i also got a HUGE package of pixie sticks, i think theres like a million in there, and a DELICIOUS bar of cadbury chocolate. i wrote to lelila, i bet it wont make it into the pictures, and it didnt. unfortunately it was my dog who got to enjoy most of it. and cuz he didnt get sick, i'm allowed to be mad at him for it Tongue

Thanks again lelila!!

the robe's a little big, but it can be taken in.

and its has pockets, which is just too funny.

Gizmo really liked the toys Smiley

10  Re: Music is my Aeroplane Gallery in The Swap Gallery by x0xmanda on: August 16, 2007 01:53:41 PM
yay photobucket is working.

So here's the lovely stuff i got from crumpet79!

in my questionaire, i wrote that i just got my permit and would love something for driving, so she made me these awesome review mirror charms! i believe they're shrinky dinks, and they say "tracking treasure down" which is a song i chose.

four magnets with gabriel and dresden, with the lyrics "you had me wishing that everything was real"

this was my favorite part. its a cd case for my "driving music" decoupaged with a picture of ATB on a cd. i love the pink and sparkles too!

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!! Shocked Grin
