12  R is for Rita the pillow cover img robust in Needlework: Completed Projects by rectangel on: June 09, 2009 05:29:43 PM
Hey Everyone,

I made this pillow cover for Ritapizza and I finally had time to edit the photos I took of it.  I made the pattern myself for the pillow cover (it is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/rectangel/3405009715/in/set-72157601863743141/ ) and it matches another pillow cover I made for her last year (it is here  http://www.flickr.com/photos/rectangel/2591524172/in/set-72157601448972729/ ).  Rita is awesome and it was really cool to make this for her Smiley  The embroidery flower designs were redrawn and simplifed from a version of some Dover clip art image and the R was based on two different block fonts I put together and redrew to make it work.  I worked on this very slowly and so I had photos all over the place for it.  If you check on flickr Rita has pics and I will put some of these ones on there later in big versions Smiley and you can also see what Rita made me Smiley

these are the buttons I used for the back but I also think it's funny to see how many times I measured and marked the buttonholes in order to get them perfect (OCD anyone?)

but it was worth it

I love the sheen in this photo Smiley

and here it is flat

13  Re: Let's Strip - the swap with a twist - Gallery Edition! in The Swap Gallery by rectangel on: May 16, 2009 02:00:39 PM
Well my last two strips arrived yesterday and I finally got a chance to upload photos so here goes:

this first group is from mamaphunk, maremare, and craftymccrafterson

the next group is from linnybelle and mlheran

thanks ladies Smiley  while I don't think I will make a project with all of these together I do think I might make some cushion covers out of the individual strips sets.  I can't wait to see what everyone else decides to make!

15  Corset Sachets & Pattern plus luggage tag in Needlework: Completed Projects by rectangel on: April 20, 2009 03:52:30 PM
Hey Everyone - I feel like I haven't been able to share anything I've been working on forever all top secret and such but I couldn't take it anymore and I wanted to show you my latest creation and give you the pattern if you need one but I would appreciate you creditting me if you use the pattern.  They are really fun to make except for the lavender part which is messy.

the hot pink design I did by actually drawing on the fabric and then stitching so it isn't exactly the same as my pattern and the pink and aqua is not yet made into a sachet...I sew them together and stuff them with lavender and I think they are awesome...oh and as a bonus a luggage tag I created for a swap recently

this one is my favorite but I used my template and the transfer went on a little dark on the cream felt and was hard to get out

bonus

20  Re: T4-Tea Towels Go International in The Swap Gallery by rectangel on: December 06, 2008 05:19:49 PM
Last towel at last!  Im happy to report that my towel has arrived home.  I havent opened the package yet because I wanted to finish Ginas towel and send it off first.  So, step one here is my design for Ginas towel.  I was really uninspired when I started because I couldn't think of another cowgirl design but then it hit me I could make one of my favorite designs into a cowgirl and then I was really inspired!  Ginas towel looks absolutely awesome but I want it to be a surprise for her when she gets home.  My girl has straight hair because I decide straight hair was totally underepresented in the pinup world Wink

Gina I hope you like her I loved stitching her and I finally got to use my howdy stamp to make a pattern and my scallop stitch backwards!  The weaving on her straw hat looks better without the flash and the large pictures have less grain -I will upload some better photos on to flickr on Monday but for now I hope this will do!
