1  Another Hello Kitty (Blue this time) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Diane Crafts on: April 19, 2007 08:51:59 PM
Here is the other Hello Kitty fabric that I have.  I like this design a lot but I really had a difficult time deciding on a lining for this one.  This purse isn't quite finished as I did not have matching ribbon for the closure tie, so tomorrow when I'm out and about I'll see what I can come up with.  This is the same size as the yellow Hello Kitty purse from yesterday only it has a single longer strap.

2  Hello Kitty Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Diane Crafts on: April 18, 2007 12:01:17 PM
I wanted to add some little girl and kind of "tween" purses to my line, so today I made this Hello Kitty purse.  I like the purse but think it is a little small.  What size do you ladies use for your little girl and not so "little" girl purses.  This turned out to be about 5"Hx7"wx2"D. Now enough chit chat...here's the purse....what do you think?Huh

3  Little "Red Hat" number in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Diane Crafts on: March 10, 2007 06:01:42 AM
While digging through my stash yesterday I came across several pieces of "Red Hat" fabric.  I haven't made any "Red Hat" items in a long time (even though they always sell well for me), so I thought it was time to whip up something.  This is what I came up with.

4  Is it Flip Flop time yet??? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Diane Crafts on: March 03, 2007 11:16:00 AM
I've been working on this bag for what seems like weeks...and as far as I'm concerned it really isn't finished yet...I think it needs a little fru-fru trim (some thing not too overbearing) around the top maybe in that mossy green or light pink...what do y'all think?

5  Re: Let me see your Denim Jeans Bags! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Diane Crafts on: February 13, 2007 10:43:26 AM
Everyone's bags are so cute.  I thought I'd jump in here with a couple I've made.  One is from a little girl's skirt the other was a little girl's jumper that I took the bib part off of.  I love working with jeans and jean skirts.

This one is the skirt. The lining is the purse part and is the same as the little rose bud print as the sash.

This one was the jumper.  It has cute embroidery at the bottom and on the front pockets and the purse/lining fabric is plaid/check in 3 shades of green with lady bugs on it.  I made the lady bug button.

6  Flowers and Stripes OH MY in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Diane Crafts on: February 04, 2007 01:05:39 PM
This is a home dec/upholstery sample that I've had for a long time and kept looking at "meaning" to do something with.  I've really got cabin fever and a bad case of the winter "BLAHS" so I pulled this out and thought I'd put a little spring/summer in my purse making.  Of course, being one of those tiny sample pieces there wasn't enough to make handles/straps. I cut a piece off the fabric so I could get the flowers centered on the purse so I improvised to get the pocket and the handle loops out of that scrap...but I'm pleased with how it turned out.  So here's the bag:

7  Upholstery Fabric Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Diane Crafts on: January 31, 2007 06:11:29 AM
This is a purse I designed and made out of upholstery fabric for a fall/winter craft show.  This was the pattern I was using to make the ME fru fru purse I posted yesterday before the "creative opportunity" struck and it ended up being a shorter, frilly bag instead.   LOL.

8  Mary Engelbreit with fru fru eyelet trim in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Diane Crafts on: January 30, 2007 09:04:32 PM
This bag has given me the biggest headache.  First I cut the fabric wrong and had one side upside down, next the iron-on interfacing did not stick very well in one spot and yes I know a hotter iron and more pressure of the iron will not "fix" this...I did it anyway and scorched the fabric so I had to cut about 2.5-3  inches off the top of the purse, then of course the inside pocket was too close to the top so I had to take that out completely, but being the stubborn person that I am I was determined I would get this purse done.  So here it is, a Mary Engelbreit fabric purse with fru-fru eyelet trim.

PS  I think I'm working on an easy tote or two this week LOL.

10  My Sha Sha Bag...At Last in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Diane Crafts on: January 21, 2007 12:38:26 PM
I love this design and I was determined I was going to make this thing even though I seemed to have more trouble with it than the rest of you.  I guess sometimes some of us get a mental block and make things much more difficult than they really are.  I used some "colorful language" (in the words of Daisygirl), I have a few more grey hairs and maybe even a few less hairs....then I sent out an SOS and got some really good suggestions.  Then back to the sewing table I went.  I grabbed some different fabric and started over....and here it is ........... my completed Sha Sha Dream bag....thanks to everyone who posted suggestions and thanks to buglake for the great design and delightfully written tutorial.
Soooo here is my very girly girl pink Sha Sha Dream bag in all it's glory:
