2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Blue IDontKnowTheNameOfThisFabric skirt. on: February 19, 2010 08:39:12 PM
I've wanted a skirt made from this material in this colour for months, and finaly made it. It aint perfect, but I love it  Tongue

I improvised, so there's not much I can explain about it's construction (which, as you can see, is reaaally basic).

I wanted it to resemble a tutu a bit, so I made different layers of this..ahm.. material, to give it the look and movement I wanted. (The only problem is that it weights NOTHING, so when the wind blows and I'm not quick enough, everyone can see my 'I <3 GEEKS' underwear. [Or my hooker garters, if they're lucky.])
I didnt hem the edges, as it made the skirt really 'stiff'. I melted them a bit with a lighter instead, so that they don't fray.

My legs look pink and chubby. They're chubby, but not pink. (I'm wearing pinkish-purple-blah fishnets)

Thanks for looking! Smiley

9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Pirate Costume! on: October 27, 2008 05:50:51 PM
I started with this on august (yeah, I'm obsessed with halloween)
I first made the skirt out of an old _*I dont know how to say it in english. it's white, and like an extra-long white shirt you wear on top of you clothes in chemistry*_ + scraps of fabric, and dyed it with tea and other..substances (aka coffee, ink, etc. . .)

Then I started working on my bf's costume (which is a pirate one, too. I'll post some pics of him in it when I get them).
I grabbed some old pants he had, ripped and stained them. I also cut them so that they are knee-length now. I grabbed an old shirt and ripped the neckline, bottom and cuffs. I stained it too.

I bought a floor-length fake leather jacket for 6 bucks, and used that to make a corset (I made the pattern, too). Oh.. and my bf bought some second hand boots for 4 bucks.

Crappy pic of the back of the corset

Now I'm making a pirate hat, using last year Threadbanger's Halloweeny Wednesdays' Pirate Costume tutorial ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvopk72Bx3Y )
+ an eyepatch + MAYBE a tiny pirate hat for me

Oh, and I had most of the acsesories (belts, necklaces, pearls, amulets...) You'll see them afterwards. The only thing we bought was my red sash thingy (6 bucks) and a brown/orange-y one for him).

I'll post more pics as soon as I take them...!

That's the coolest hat I've ever seen. . . Would you let me marry him? Cheesy

Oh.. and it remind's me a lot to a hat Vecona made (She doesent sell it anymore, so I couldnt find pictures for you)
Anyway, her website is http://www.vecona.de/
