I have rediscovered that I like knitting socks:

These are lace socks from Lace Style.

And these are my "Watermelon Socks," I am very happy with how they turned out (they won second prize in the fair).

I made this with Zephyr from Jaggerspun (50 merino/50 silk) on US 4s. I have had this finished for months, but finally got around to blocking it this past one. The pattern is from the Yarn Harlot'shttp://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/ website

I can't wait to start sewing. It theoretically shall be made into a cote hardie for moi. Once I get up the courage to cut it. I might end up doing something with a more rectangular construction (like a norse apron dress) just to save my heart though.

I finally have pictures. I had to borrow a camera (I think mine is in Mom's car, and she is away for the week). Ses Springett sent me these lovely pieces of jewelry:
-Two pairs of earrings.

-Two bracelets.

-A pair of awesome shell earrings and a handrolled paper beads necklace.
-A journal, of which I forgot to take a picture. Apologies.

6  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap 4!! in The Swap Gallery by yarn_mafia on: May 07, 2007 07:19:25 PM
I recieved! After much waiting the package has arrived. It's nice and pretty, and now I have to think of stuff to do. Ah, I want to get to the center. I'll post pictures in a bit.
*edit*
Here are pictures, now that my computer is cooperating... I haven't unwrapped it yet, but I photographed the stuff that was easy to excavate.

Here is the package in all its glory. eatmoreplants, what is the yarn base that you dyed? i.e. brand wool type? It's pretty. Is there a label I have yet to unearth?

Here is the pattern eatmoreplants sent. One pair of Handwarmers. We'll see what happens (I don't understand le pattern).
And, what do we have peeking out here?
If I don't miss my guess, it's lamb's pride handpaint originals...don't know the colour, maybe Sarah's Dress (I think that's the colour way) Let's see if I'm right.
There are also 3 knitting magazines (^_^), a drop spindle (always need more toys...) some cute sheepy stationary/journal type stuff, and lotion and other stuff I haven't excavated yet. The archaeologist in me wants to come out and take detailed note on the contents... Yahrrr (okay, that's the pirate in me wanting to get to the buried treasure, and fast!)!

8  Re: Panta Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by yarn_mafia on: April 15, 2007 11:38:05 AM
Finally got around to posting pictures. Sorry it took sooo long. I've had a busy week. I got a lovely package from LittleSailor in the mail (Monday I think) and I adore the things she sent. I got a wonderful burnt red panta made from two strands of Silky Wool (Elspeth Lavold)
and it fits nicely. I've been wearing it even though it's not quite cold enough for one right now. I even met a gal wearing a panta at the workshop I went to.  I said, "Nice panta," and she asked if I frequented Craftster. Hehehe...
Little Sailor also sent me a nice set of stitch markers with butterfly beads and pearlies for big needles (which is nice, most of my stitch markers are for little needles). Here they are being modeled by my cat ( these are between various attempts by said cat to eat said stitch markers).

10  Re: Winter Handspun Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by yarn_mafia on: March 01, 2007 07:56:10 PM
It's been awhile, but I made something out of my swap yarn! Excitement abounds. I made a panta out of my yarn from a pattern from Fyberduck:

I had a picture of me wearing it, but I accidentally deleted it. Probably just as well actually. It's nice and comfy to wear.
I still have to think of what else to do with the yarn though...I keep trying to make scarves, but I think the yarn just doesn't want to be a scarf...
