1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: 3 color pattern Tute for MONSTERGIRL ;) as seen in scrapbook blanket on: October 21, 2005 01:51:58 PM
Would you say that it is similar to the Interlock Filet Stitch as seen here:
http://www.angelfire.com/oh/crochethook/patts/intrlck.html

The interlock filet stitch is a lot different in that you are crocheting into a chain of the same color woven through a filet background.  For this stitch you stitch in dcs an extra row down.

Also, might clog up your drain with lint. . . just a thought.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Marshmallow Peeps Hat on: October 17, 2005 09:39:09 AM
Hey thanks everyone!

How I got them to stay on:
I tried gluing the peeps on, but they aren't all that gluable, so I ended up sewing them on (gross) with just a couple stitches in the middle.

Did you do anything to preserve them in any way (like spray them with acrylic)? I guess they probably have enough preservatives to last and last all on their own.

No preservatives, I let them "age" naturally, then sent them through the mail, sewn onto the hat.   Apparently they are rock solid now.

I used marshamallow peeps to make this hat.  They have withstood the test of time (I got the peeps for Easter).

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Earflap Hat on: August 31, 2005 09:20:21 AM
I used Noro Kureyon, several hat patterns as guidelines, and a minimal amount of math:

Two questions:
1. pompom on top or not?
2. Would blocking help the curling of the earflaps? What else could I do?

I don't think it needs a pompon, but it wouldn't look bad with one either.
blocking should help the curling.  You could also sc crochet around the earflaps or embroider in blanket stitch. . .

I got punkrockmom and aristrachelmarie's yarns. They are both excellent, hope to have some pictures up soon.

rachelmarie:  your yarns were great, I got them before I managed to send mine out to you and I think it was a fair swap. I sent you a little extra because yours were so nice.
