11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Help turning a book into art on: October 20, 2011 06:04:03 PM
Since my friend down the street just got one, it looks like I might be seeing http://hipsterjew.com/2010/03/21/sid-roth/ this book in the mail soon.

I love the look of book art, but tend to feel like it's a waste, that nothing I could create would be worth destroying a book's readability.

Well, this one I'm more than willing to chop to bits and recycle if it doesn't end up pretty. Only, I'm not sure how to even attempt something pretty.

I like the altered book journals, but they leave too much of the writing intact. Any one have any folded book tutorials or paper sculpting advice?

It's fantastic!

And please note that my next question doesn't change how awesome your work and reconstruction is in anyway.

What painting did you base the dress off?

background:
This is the second Italian working dress I've seen done from Campi's paintings and in the painting the other lady posted, everything was super detailed, but there wasn't the distinctive pleating of a cartridge pleated waist, and the gathers came out of the skirt in a totally different way than I've seen in cartridge skirts.

So I'm thinking either there was something else going on, or the lady was actually using a different picture than she showed.
14  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crazy walls. Help ! on: July 12, 2010 08:19:47 AM
Make sure you save the pictures you posted here so they don't try to claim YOU did that sh*t to the walls.

Man, I hope she comes back from Spain with TASTE.

How much you bet that the room and having black as her favorite color was a thing from when she was like 17 and angsty and she'll come back from Spain and be like "WTF was I thinking? And whyTF did my parents leave it that way??"

16  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Vacation Dress - Kodaikanal Kurta on: May 08, 2010 08:42:17 PM
So gorgeous! Kurta are definitely on my "to make/buy and wear" list for after my daughter finishes nursing.
17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: summertime bikini!!! on: May 08, 2010 08:39:58 PM
those bottoms are gonna come right off when you jump in the water, plus you probably have to shave all your pubes off. But good job otherwise
Okay, your username and pic make this comment utterly perfect.

As for the bikini, it looks like a fantastic sunning suit. Toss some shorts in your beach bag in case you want to swim or run around, and you're good to go.

19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Embroidered sweet bag on: April 25, 2010 02:46:13 PM
Gorgeous!

I'm feeling stupid here, but can someone direct me to the close-up of the snail if there is one?

And if there isn't one, could you try to post one! I want to see it closer because you are extra proud of it.
20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Dorito Bag Prom Dress (Plus Picture With The Man Who Said I Couldn't Do It!) on: April 11, 2010 03:17:40 PM
Cheesy The principal probably thought you were going to make a dress out of ONE dorito bag. Like a pillowcase dress, only, um, WAY skimpier.

Your dress is so cute!
