1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help! Lefty incapable of reading charts! on: August 10, 2008 06:44:46 AM
I really want to make the binary scarf (from knitty) for my Hubs for Xmas, but when I started doing it, after the first section I noticed all the 1's were backwards. So the questions are this: Is it because I knit lefty? Do I need to do something special to the chart so it turns out right? Also I've never knit from a chart before, most of the charts scare me. I'd appreciate any and all help in this matter. Thanks in advance!!
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Christmas cards on: December 27, 2007 04:57:41 PM
What can I do with all the xmas cards I recieved?? I already thought about coasters and placemats, but those really arent my style. Any suggestions would be great! thanks!!
3  UNITED STATES / Michigan / Southwest SNB anyone? on: December 06, 2007 09:47:03 PM
Does anyone know of a SNB or knitting group going on in southwest Michigan? I am thinking the St. Joesph all the way south to New Buffalo area. I know there is one in Kalamazoo, but that is to far for me to drive (I live in Three Oaks). I'd be willing to go to Michigan City or South Bend too. Thanks!!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Toe up socks or not?? on: November 07, 2007 05:35:51 PM
I have been knitting for a few years now and am starting to feel comfortable with branching out and trying some new things. (New for me anyway) I have never done socks, but would like to give them a try. I don't like circular needles much, but I can deal with it. So my question(s) is this: which would be better for a first timer toe up socks or cuff down? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
5  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Lavender help!!! on: September 30, 2007 06:59:53 PM
I have 2lbs + of medium grade lavender buds. Any suggestions on what I can do with it? I am so bored with sachets. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / felted or not? on: September 17, 2007 12:46:12 PM
I have a question. I purchased a 100% lambswool sweater (it said so on the tag) from goodwill with the intention of felting it, then cutting it up to make a messenger-type bag. I threw it in the wash with a few pairs of jeans set it to hot, added my soap, and waited it out. When I pulled it out of the washer, it seemed a little like it had felted, but the sleeves and back were exactly the same as whe nI put it in. What went wrong? Any help/suggestions would be great.
