that's so great!!
my fiance and i are getting married in july, and our colors are very similiar (orange, red and yellow)...we've been looking for a day of the dead cake topper just like that...where did you find yours?Huh
it was very cool how you customized it.

13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Grad banquet + awesome present = jewelry binge! on: May 26, 2005 09:24:55 AM
those are all lovely...and the bracelet is beautiful!!
i've knitted a few wire bracelets, and i don't understand what you mean by 'crocheting the form first, then adding the beads'...??
how do you add the beads after the bracelet is crocheted?
very curious.
thanks!

15  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Father's Day / Re: biker daddy! on: May 24, 2005 10:42:14 AM
your story about you and your father was really lovely.  it might be cool to make him a doo-rag with that pattern, and embroider a scripture into it, or maybe your name and a little heart.
just an idea.
congratulations on your sobriety.  Smiley
16  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: The art of Coaster making?? on: May 23, 2005 09:09:54 AM
if you do a search on the word "coasters" in the craftster search engine you'll come up with several different ways to make coasters...but here is my favorite:

the tiles are really cheap at home depot, and they look very professional if you use seven or eight coats of the poly on them.
you can scan your pic and make it smaller to fit onto them in microsoft word, or in photoshop.

have fun!
17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Circus Party for 3 year olds on: May 18, 2005 08:22:19 AM
for halloween last year my boyfriend and i turned our dining room into a circus tent...we used orange and purple rolls of plastic table top coverings that you can buy at a party wharehouse store...it looked amazing, if i do say so myself.
i don't know if this link to the pic still works, but if not, i'll post another pic to give you guys an idea.
it takes a while to line up all of the plastic, but you basically create a point in the middle of the room to pin all of the 'top' to, and then pin around the edges of the room.  (i know, that doesn't make much sense)
but with a pic you'll get the idea.

we alwasy said that we were going to do the same thing for our kids when we have any.

here's the link to the post...
