1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Baby Blankets on: March 19, 2009 05:02:31 PM
I'm guessing blankets would fall under houseware since they are sewn but not quilted? Tongue

My friend had twins, a boy and a girl and being that she grew up a fisherman's daughter, her love of the sea is being passed to her kids with a nautical nursery. I found this great retro fabric for one side and the flannel anchors and stars for the other! I love how they came out and she loves them as well! Smiley

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Funky Flip Flops on: July 15, 2008 03:15:01 PM
money is tight tight tight these days but i wanted to make something cute for my mom for her birthday. I found the pattern on the lion brand site and they're so cute i have to make myself a pair! Super easy to boot

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Valentine's ribbed scarf and hat set on: February 15, 2008 08:20:13 PM
My friend asked me if I would make a scarf and hat set for his girlfriend for the dreaded V-Day. Being that I'm single it's not my favorite holiday, but he's out of work at the moment and was desperately trying to think of something he could afford to buy her, so I said I'd do it and he can pay me when he gets a job again. I'm happy with how it came out and she loves it, so it's a success Smiley

I look best blurry Smiley

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Plastic canvas alphabet blocks - Pic heavy on: December 26, 2007 08:26:01 PM
I decided to take on a HUGE project for my 19 month old nephew for Christmas. I decided to make him 3 dimensional alphabet blocks. 6 sides: Upper case and lower case letter, 2 numbers, 2 pictures of items starting with that letter. All connected with black yarn and with a jingle bell inside. Totally time consuming, which is why he only got A thru H for now, but I looooove how they came out and he loved them too, especially since they make sound. Let me know what you think!

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / floral tapestry bag for mom on: December 21, 2007 09:46:37 PM
Nothing like waiting until the last minute to finish gifts up! heh I made this tonight for my mom for X-Mas. I feel like it's a little plain but not much I can do about that now. It's got a slight pleating at the top and inside is a nice big buttoned pocket (decided to try the button hole option on the machine. Not perfect but not bad). The strap is a skinny belt I had which I doubled. I hope it'll be strong enough to hold up. I hate hate hate making my own straps tho.
Let me know what you guys think!

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Colorful little zipper pouches on: December 21, 2007 09:21:17 AM
Being that money is tight this holiday season, I decided to make little zippered pouches for some of my co-workers. I found some great funky fabrics and did them up last night. Inside each one is some gum, a bottle of nail polish and 3 different kinds of teas. They were a big success Smiley

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Lap Blanket on: December 18, 2007 06:20:42 AM
It's near impossible to shop for my 93 yr old grandmother since she doesn't want/need anything so my mom suggested I make her something. I argued that she crochets herself and can make things if she wants them but mom argued back that it's different if it comes from someone else, so I decided to make her a little lap blanket since she's always cold. I love how it came out. I know she'll love it too ^_^   hmm the color in the 2nd picture is a little funky. it's closer to the first picture, a rose and a cream.

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Minty goodness on: October 15, 2007 09:04:42 PM
Ive had this green minty colored baby yarn for over a yr now. My boy's going to be an uncle so I figured I'd throw together something for his brother and sister in law's bun in the over.  First blanket I ever made. Surprisingly easier and quicker to work up than i imagined.  One big granny square with a DC and Shell stitch border.

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Gift for a Halloween Babe on: October 08, 2007 07:37:37 PM
My friend's birthday is on Halloween and she loves all things related to the holiday.  She's not a big purse carrier since she's not all girlie girl, but I thought this one might change her mind. What 30 yr old who looks about 16 doesn't like a rockin' skull purse? ^_^ it's actually the pattern from stitch n bitch for a potholder but I thought this would be a fun twist on it. It still needs a liner which I'm trying to find the perfect fabric for.

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Ribbed for his pleasure on: October 08, 2007 10:00:25 AM
A male friend of mine asked for a scarf and I was trying to think of a stitch that wouldn't look so..well...girlie and lace like, so I did an HDC ribbed stitch and I love how it came out. I ran out of the green yarn and we decided to add another color on the ends instead of me going out to buy a whole another skein of the green.  here's to hoping he likes it! Smiley

here's me modeling it. he's really tall (6'5") so i hope it'll be long enough for him when it's wrapped around once...(it's about 6 ft long)
