2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: The meaning of handmade holidays? on: July 17, 2008 04:02:28 PM
My favorite Christmas ornament is the one I received from my son's daycare last year.  It's a "snowman" (son's footprint in white paint) on a piece of foam with some buttons, yarn, and a hat cut out of felt.  It was inexpensive for them to make, but it means so much to me.  I love all the artwork they send home from daycare--especially those that have his little hand and footprints.

So cute--I love the fabrics you used!

I'm starting on my handmade gifts already--if I don't start now, they'll never get finished!

Pretty much everybody on my list (mom, brother, MIL, SILs, and coworkers) will get fabric grocery bags using this AWESOME tutorial--
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=177482.0
I've been scouring Goodwill for cool tablecloths, curtains, and sheets.  I totally lucked out and found a red toile Pottery Barn (!) table runner to make bags for one of my SILs.

MIL & SILs--wine glass charms & casserole carriers in addition to their bags
nieces (11, 8, 7)--personalized journals using the Zutter I got for Christmas last year and tons of scrap paper I've been saving, maybe smaller versions of the fabric grocery bags?
son (will be 2yo)--any suggestions???

I need help with the guys--dad, brothers, BILs, husband

Cute card!  I usually try to have mine done by August (excluding the picture).  Otherwise they won't get done in time for Christmas!

I am so excited!  I love Dollar Tree, and this will be my first challenge.  My son and I went to Dollar Tree today and picked up a few supplies, and I'm ready to start crafting!
