So I was bored yet filled with energy today, so I created this skirt. It took maybe 45 minutes. Just took an old dress I never wear, cut off the top and added a waistband (that used to be a t-shirt). I think I might wear it tomorrow.
Yeah... I have a small bust, so although it's a tight squeeze, I can get it over my top half. For those who were more blessed, you'll probably need to install a zipper or maybe make it tie in the back (though I'm thinking this could result in the pregnancy look).
I made this shirt about a year ago... I'm glad people still like it!
The skirt is great. When I first saw the photo with your shirt, I thought the fabric was cut into the shape of a guitar... it's not, but that would be awesome, if you're trying to think of ways to incorporate it.
I agree that if you can't wax, try bleaching. But honestly, I wax and it's not that hard. The first few times are worst, but it gets easier (especially if you do it often enough). You can buy a tub of wax at a beauty supply store and apply it with a popsicle stick or brush. Make sure you follow the directions, and good luck!
If you wanted to make it a box instead of a bag, you could modge podge film strip stuff up and down the sides. I did this with a cigar box. First, I found film strip images of Marilyn Monroe online and printed them out. I took the ones I liked best and modge podged them to the sides of the box. Then I found a larger image of Marilyn and put it on the front.
I thought I had a pic of this, but apparently not -- sorry.
Marilyn Monroe epitomizes Hollywood glamour to me... if you didn't want to have her on it, maybe you could find a photo of your friend looking extra sexy and use it instead.
