21  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / recycled silk sari yarn on: December 04, 2007 10:17:24 AM
What am I to do with this stuff?  I bought 5 hanks of recycled silk sari yarn, tried to wind 2 and make tangles and as I was playing with it, realized I hate the feel of it!  Stupid me buying stuff on ebay!  Suggestions, anyone, or a personal swap?  If you love this stuff and want to part with some wool, or hell, any other yarn, PM me or something.  help!
22  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / 3 Holiday ATCs on: November 20, 2007 08:32:50 PM
I went on a little kick the other day and I was supposed to make 2 cards for the Holiday ATC Swap, I made 5, so here are my other 3.  I've never posted on this board before, so I assume they can go here.

From left to right,

"Joyeux Noel," "This Christmas, Think Pink!" and "I am the naughty list"

All images are from deviantart.com, cut out and glued onto glitter cardstock onto mat board.  Letter stickers I picked up the other day at hobby lobby on sale Smiley
23  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Using 4" and 5" Squares on: November 19, 2007 08:35:08 AM
So I'm getting a bundle of 4 and 5 inch squares to make a quilt, and some yardage as well, and so far I have thought of making squares of 20"x20" and using strips as well.  Any suggestions, or patterns for easy quilting?   My mom sews and will be helping me, but I am trying to become a more grown-up sewer and would like to do more stuff on my own.

Oh yeah, I just realized with a seam allowance, that changes the size a bit.  any help is appreciated!
24  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Naughty Christmas Swap? on: November 17, 2007 08:17:29 AM
I propose a Naughty Christmas (or Holiday) swap.  Ideas I have had so far: naughty atcs/magnets, furry red and white hand cuffs, lingerie, toy holders---all in Christmas/holiday prints or colors, like red/white/green or I guess it's blue for Hanukkah? This would be an 18+ swap, no one offended by adult imagery.
25  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Turning away swappers? on: October 12, 2007 09:54:36 PM
I was just thinking about this.  There were some issues in the swap I'm hosting (almost finished, but again, problems) and there are some people I'm hesitant to allow to be other swaps I may host.  What is, or is there a protocol for turning people down?  Not just these people, but say, other swappers with comments in feedback like "poor communication"
26  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / sweets swap, round #? on: October 11, 2007 09:09:58 PM
Don't know what round this is, but a swap with a sweet theme?  after the last round i've been finding fabric everywhere!  anyone else up for it?  hee hee, anyone else organize?
27  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / jazz up my cubicle on: October 11, 2007 09:08:47 PM
okay, some of us, our lives resemble "office space" or "the office."  our cubicles need help.  how about an 8x10 piece of art to jazz up someone's work space?  doesn't have to be super thick (sturdy is good, mat board would work for a base) and easy to hang in a cube.  And office appropo, unless your office lets you get away with naked people or something (if you have that job, i want one too).  ideas?
28  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / I <3 Coffee/Tea/Cocoa Swap Round 5??? on: October 11, 2007 09:05:59 PM
Okay, its that time of year for warm beverages (at least in my neck of the woods), anyone up for another round?  i'm thinking a smilar set up to rnd 4, i'd add in the link except i'm too lazy now to find it.
29  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / NFL Fan Swap on: October 11, 2007 09:01:47 PM
Do you love the Packers?  Or even someone else?  Do you knit/crochet/sew while yelling for a tackle or a touchdown?  This swap may be for you.

Once I get some swaps cleared up, I am considering hosting an NFL fan swap.  Items could be aprons, hats, bags, mittens, gloves, scarves, etc, in team colors/team fabrics.  Perhaps 1 large, and 2 medium?  This wouldn't be the place for jewelry or stitch markers, unless they're added in as extra.

Football isn't just for dudes, it's for craftsters!

Oh yeah, I'm going to mix up teams, too, I think, so be prepared to craft for the opposition (except for me, I reserve the right to not craft for the bears, vikings or patriots.  or michael vick fans) hee hee
30  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Receiving flaker! on: October 11, 2007 08:57:59 PM
I keep pm'ing a member of my swap to see if she has recieved yet, and nothing, not even a "nope, not yet."  both this person (we'll call her betty) and her partner had comms issues, but i was able to leave betty feedback because her partner rec'd (it took me forever to get her to reply, too)  this is the last outstanding package to close up the swap, and nothing.  any suggestions?
