Not clothing - but it is for a baby. This mei tai was inspired by a batik by Hoffman: Tree of Life
I could not just purchase the fabric and make a mei tai. I had a pretty borwn and batik and found the green on the remnant bin. Here is my rendition of the tree of life. The mei tai panel is appliqued. I had fun doing this panel - there are so many ideas turning in my head now.
Modeled on "the lady" as my children say.
Flat so you can see the entire panel:
I have some more detailed photos in my blog
. And if you click on the photos in the blog they enlarge too.
After having so much fun with the applique - I thought it need a bag to go with it. So this is a coming and going bag - pattern by that*darn*kat
. Katie has made such a great pattern - very easy to follow and a great result. Next time I will use a heavier interfacing than I had on hand. The bag is lined with the green floral fabric. Sorry about the bad lighting.
The mei tai fits right in the bag so it can be used as a tote for the mei tai or just as a purse.
Thanks for looking!
