Regulars to this section might remember the fish pond cake I made for my grandad a few months ago, well this is my next cake attempt. I made an extra effort because I'm off to university in October and don't know how many more family birthday cakes I will get to make.
It is a copy of the vegetable section in our garden, it is fairly accurate, scale and type of plantwize.
I made this for my dads birthday, but we are going on holiday tomorrow so we don't have time to eat a full size one, so I made it super tiny. This is the cake with an ordinary sized lemon to show scale.
The painting one the side of the green house, there is cake in the green house. We are going to take it away with us to use on my dads actually birthday.
There are LOADS MORE photos, and info on the different sections on my Blog (see signature). Please comment/critisise here or on my blog, I find feedback really helpfull!
Just a quick little project, I loved this embroidery that I did (Close up of embroidery here ->http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=262301.0) and it was calling out to be a pouch. So thats what it became, and I lined it with the applique fabric from the toadstool. Its a really usefull size, neatly fits in my cards and money with out being bulky, and the flat base means its really roomy.
I had a rough idea of this in my head and just picked up the needle and thread the other day and doddle stitched until it felt finished. The polkadot part is applique and the rest is mainly back stitch, with a bit of chain stitch and a few french knots. I have turned it into a purse/pouch now, and I'l post a picture of that in the bag catagory.
There is a bit more info, and pictures of the pouch/purse it became on my blog (see signature)
Mym had a clear out and was goin to throw out some old jeans. My sister like the colour of the denim though, so I said i would make her some shorts from them. However she is several sizes smaller than my mum and prefers to wear her waist band on her hips. So I had to drop the waist, take them in at the sides and cop off the legs. I also had to take off the back pockets because it got in the way of the waist band.
I dont have a a before shot I'm afraid, but just imagine a pair of jeans way to baggy and way too short. There are more pictures on my blog (see signature).
I found the idea for this camera case on Etsy, I would love to post the link so I could give the person credit but I can't find it any where. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5124044 (thankyou craziedavises), the shop owner has sold them all now, but you can still see them in the sold items section.
My camera has been caseless for a long time, so I thought enough was enough. The one I got the idea from was pretty similar to this but in different colours and the buttons were in slightly different places, I changed them round so they matched the positioning on my camera.
I would like to post an action shot, but I kind of need my camera to take the picture There is more info on my blog (see signature) What do you think? (all kind of comments very welcome)
I was making a purse, but I didn't plan it very well so I missed a vital 'adding in loads of layers for pockets' stage, so I just had a lined square of fabric. So I added some ribbon and a button and turned it into some fabric wrapping paper, you can use it to send gifts in and just pass it around with presents rather than get new paper every time. Also what do you think of the pictures aswell, I have been working on my photography skills.
I found this book stall on the market which had a box of books without covers and some pages missing, the stall holder siad he was just going to throw them away! Well I couldn't let that happen, so I checked it wasn't erotica (that would have been slightly weird for my type of pictures ) and took a couple home. These are what I have done so far.
I would love to know which your favourite is (if any)?
I got this blue fabric in a swap and it just screamed "elephant" to me, so after a couple of paper patterns, stitching (on my new sewing machine - yey ) and stuffing, this is what I came up with.
I have made a couple of dolls before, but this the 1st one I designed the pattern for my self. I call her Elvie. There are some more pictures on my etsy. (hope I'm allowed to put that) Comments/crititism much appreciated.
