21  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Another old book page painting (plus extra...) on: August 02, 2008 04:37:24 PM
I posted some pictures painted on pages of recycled (coverless) books a week or so ago, and now I have done another one. It is called star guardian.

I am also practising my computer image program skills (or lack of) at the moment, so I would love to hear wha you thought of this version of it that I have messed around with.

There is also more about it on my blog (see my signature), you have to scroll down a few posts.
Comments/crititisms very much appresiated...
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I love when my mum throws stuff "out" on: August 02, 2008 04:28:54 PM
Mym had a clear out and was goin to throw out some old jeans. My sister like the colour of the denim though, so I said i would make her some shorts from them. However she is several sizes smaller than my mum and prefers to wear her waist band on her hips. So I had to drop the waist, take them in at the sides and cop off the legs. I also had to take off the back pockets because it got in the way of the waist band.

I dont have a a before shot I'm afraid, but just imagine a pair of jeans way to baggy and way too short. There are more pictures on my blog (see signature).

Thankyou so much for posting that Gumption, it is lovely to see people being inspire and then doing something about it.
I think it is a lovely stuffy even if it is not as useful. To be honest mine did come out a rather snugger fit than I antisipated. So I only just got away with it.
I really like the colours of yours, and the button near the lense is very camerey =D

29  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Various wall art on: July 30, 2008 02:04:55 PM
I love all of those, I have been on the london eye, and you really captured the sort of hard bigness of it (that does n't really make sence I know), the photos are so colourful, I bet prints would sell well. The postcards look really eclectic, and I like the idea of tracking your etsy sales, I might do that for mine.
30  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Camera in a Camera on: July 30, 2008 01:45:38 PM
Thankyou for all your lovely comments (I made it onto the hot new projects on the front page because of all of you - and that all ways makes me stupidly happy)
The felt I used was just what I had in my cupboard, so I think it was just the cheap, buy by the sheet, craft shop stuff, I would love the proper wool felt, but a student buget can't quite stretch that far.

If I get the time I will make a tute (but I might not get time - I've just started my first real job), what I will say though is that if you make you own, sew on alll the details (circles on the front, buttons etc) then sew it together ina box.
I didn't do this and it really made it hard work getting the buttons straight.

Also to personalise it, you could position the buttons and pocket it the places that match your own camera.

I would love to see any that you make.  Grin
Happy crafting!
