22  Homage to music - I finally finished the back of my top!!! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Umbrolly on: June 17, 2007 03:03:50 PM
I have to say I'm a self confessed band geek, and what is a band geek to wear to her band practices??? My wind band doesn't have a uniform or anything, so I thought it would be a great theme.

And close ups:    (They are sewn straight - but I wsa wearing it at the time, thats why they look wibbly)

Its sewn in backstitch from colouring pages pictures I found on the internet. I play the blue instrument on the far left.

Edit:
I took the same idea onto the back of the top with different instruments,

Opinions?                 Smiley

23  See the rainbow...not the rain in Needlework: Completed Projects by Umbrolly on: June 17, 2007 02:58:00 PM
My little sister's birthday was today, and (even with her constantly reminding me) I managed not to do anything about a present until yesterday - with the exception of saving a new white top. So I whipped this up - well I say whipped, it actually took about 4 hours Shocked
I used her favourite saying, its been her instant message slogan for as long as I can remember.
The colours seemed apropriate  Smiley

Its done in stem stitch in a font I found on microsoft word - I've no idea at all why it took so long!
What do you think???

24  Re: Alphabet ATC S, T, U in The Swap Gallery by Umbrolly on: June 17, 2007 02:40:14 PM

Sorry its taken so long, but I'm finally posting the piks of the wonderful cards I received:

The teacup is called "Tastea TV" and  is a slide frame, I love the pictures and the letter button on "Under it all", and the embroidery is beautiful on "Sunrise" - its just so colourfull. This has been my 1st ATC swap and I couldn't have asked for a better start to my collection - thankyou so very much  Grin  Grin  Grin

(sorry about poor pic quality - my battery was going)

25  Re: First Embroidery- Pin up Girl! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Umbrolly on: May 29, 2007 05:55:43 PM
I saw your post this morning and even though I have never embroidered before it just pinged me into life about it, so i followed your link and made this, I'm quite pleased with it.

I thought that it would look great on just a basic tote bag, or maybe a makeup bag.
(sorry about poor quality of picture)

27  What a lot of stripes! - Top and skirt - My 1sts in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Umbrolly on: May 22, 2007 02:29:54 PM
I just made this up out of the top of my head without a pattern or anything, and its the first propper item of clothing that I have ever made, so please don't be too harsh.

What do you think?  Smiley
Since then I made this skirt

They are a bit much worn together but I put them in the same post because its the same fabric. I'm so pleased with the skirt that I think I might actually wear it (for some reason I never wear the things I make usually)!
Oh and I didn't use a pattern for either of them, i just kind of made it up, so they are completley unique!
Hope you like it Cheesy
