Grin Al looks like he is having fun so far! And way cool that he got to meet the artist!

Poor Kimi hasn't been out very much, so far. We had torrential rain on the 4th, so no fireworks (even of the illegal kind in the back yard Wink ). I've been attached to a sewing machine since Tuesday in preparation for a craft fair (and we sold nothing!).

She's mostly been hanging with her new friends:

And doing some crafty reading (she may be doing some planning for a future adventure!):

Today, we started the tour of the city. Kimi wanted to check out the colleges first:

She should be having many more adventures in the coming weeks!

To spread the love a little...the skeleton pair is just adorable and I am crazy about the cell pair! I would totally make a pair like that except that I know I don't have the patience (or the painting skills) for something so elaborate. But I LOVE THEM!!!

Did you just use regular fabric paints on them? It'd be a shame to put all of that effort into them only to have them fade away in the laundry...

Holy Hotdogs, Batman! I can't believe you're finished already!

I'm doing a bit of in-my-head designing and then I have to hit the store for some appropriate fabric. For this bag, I'll be attempting 2 things I've never done before, so I'm a bit nervous...

You've got some awesome fabrics on there, and I love his nose! Looks like you did a great job!

It's funny how the things that would make any other bear look horrid (oddly shaped, unusual fabric combos) only make this bear so much cuter! I was 100% planning on donating mine to a charity before I assembled him, but now...not so sure about that Wink
7685  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Re: How can I make an ink pad for alcohol inks? on: July 07, 2007 05:14:33 PM
Hey Thanks!

I'll have to try that, especially since I tried the make-up sponges and they totally sucked up the ink- it was like I hadn't put any ink on it at all, except that it was black and oddly puffy.

And on the Velcro, you mean that I should use the fuzzy half and not the prickly half, right? I know I have some around here somewhere!

And I wonder if Netflix carries his DVDs...thanks for that heads up!

Wow cute_anarchy! I love the hardware owl! If I had a wist, itd be on it! And Scatter Kincaid, I love your pouch, stationery and owl stickers. The owls on the bobby pins are way cute!
7687  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: DIY KIT Round 9 on: July 02, 2007 09:26:27 AM
I thought that I'd have my kits sent by now, but in the form of a true procrastinator, I'm just getting to them now! Actually, I've been trying to get stuff done for my first craft fair on Saturday, and it has been pushing everything else down the list.

I have one kit just about finished- I need to pick up one tiny supply item that I thought I had and I need to print out the instructions.

I have one kit almost finished, I just need to do some tweaking to the instructions.

I have one kit partly finished- the instructions are typed out, but I need to make the sample and photograph it as I go, then add the photos to the instructions. I have most of the supplies ready to go, but a couple will be added as I make the sample. I think I'll be sneaking in some time tonight to work on this kit.

I hope to have all of my kits ready for the mail by tomorrow night so I can drop them in the mail on Thursday. Keeping my fingers crossed...because I do have 2 dozen purses to make by Friday... Wink

Thanks! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for those the next time I pop in (which will probably be tomorrow!).

I want to sign up for this, but one of my past swaps hasn't had feedback posted, so I'm full up right now. I just PM'd a swap mod in the hopes that I can get my feedback updated in time...

I've had this jig for a while but haven't used it yet. This necklace is inspiring and I think I may be digging out the jig and some beads pretty soon! I love the leaf beads you used. Where did you find them?
