Love the skull apron and oven mitt! And the sign is fabulous!

It's funny, I never thought about American measuring cups vs non-American measuring cups! I have a couple of recipe books (not that I cook Cheesy ) that I've picked up on my travels and they have grams and milliliters. As a science geek, I think I just converted without thinking about it! But metric measuring cups would have made things easier...

He's so cute! I love the yarn that you used, too. I think his legs look fine! Polar bears look like they have weird proportions anyway  Wink He reminds of that abandoned polar bear cub that has been in the news lately. Sometimes, I do wish I could knit...

Hmmmm...I could be convinced...it's a lot of items...but we'd have a few weeks to work on things...and I do have a vacation coming up...let me sleep on it...I don't want to do it if I can't do it well...can you tell I'm a virgo?  Wink

I got a great deal at the Salvation Army store the other day! I picked up a square, 2- shelf bookcase and an end table/nightstand with a drawer for only $4.99! I think I'm going to re-do the end table/nightstand and keep the other one for myself. I picked up some cool paper at the local art supply store and I just need to decide which one I want to use. Then, I think I'll paint the table, decoupage the top, and put a funky drawer pull on it.

And, if I have time, I may make a purse or tote bag with a matching zipper pouch. I'll have to wait for the paint to dry so I might as well work on something else in the meantime!

I just sent in my info! I work at a school and I hate going out for recess and standing in the hot sun without any sun protection (already had a skin cancer scare!). So, I could use a nice fun sunhat! My students wouldn't even dare laugh at me, because they know I'd never take them outside again Wink

I'm actually going to attempt a couple of baby sunhats (as baby gifts) over vacation (I bought a pattern, because I wasn't sure I could make one on my own). I never got around to crocheting winter hats, so I bought some cute cotton prints to turn into little hats. Wink

Wow! Beautiful work! What do you plan to do with it now that it's finished?

Ha! I forgot that I wrote that! But, it's 100% true- I'd take a pic to prove it, but pics just don't seem to capture the full effect! And, the pile dance is probably the only form of exercise I get. Plus, it keeps me on my toes- literally as I dance from spot to spot, and figuratively since I need to pay attention since some piles may have shifted when I wasn't looking!

The sign is truly perfect and I'm taking it with me on Sunday to show my mom (who has everything in it's place, dusted and shiny)...

I'm really jealous of the thread catcher, but it's all good!  Especially the crazed burglars explaination.

The thread catcher means that I may be able to vacuum only once a year, instead of twice! Smiley

And, a friend of mine told me a story about how her friend's apartment got broken into and when the cops showed up they said it was ransacked. And she had to reply, "Um, no, it always looks like this..." So, I laughed out loud when I saw the sign in my package!

janeausten- I love that fern! I might have to make a bunch of these and string them together for a scarf. I'll put some sort of bauble in between (maybe I should learn how to make felted beads) to separate the fronds. Good thing I'll have all summer to work on all of the scarves I want to make!

Prepare to be jealous of and amazed by the awesome package I got today from valsped!!

I took a TON of pics, which are small here, but click on any one to see a larger version, so you can ooooh and aaaah properly  Cheesy

I opened the box to find lots of froggy goodness looking at me (valsped and I are both science teachers and we both love frogs!). She wrapped some of the stuff in some awesome fabrics, too!

The box of froggy goodness, the group shot, the bonus fabric wrapping:

A framed sign that says it all, and a row counting bracelet:

An awesome binder cover made of wicked cool bug fabric:

A fantastic thread catching bag (I soooo needed this), complete with action shot:

An amazing swap journal (valsped said it was her first attempt at bookbinding and she did a superb job!). The covers are decorated with craft-themed stickers and stuff and the inside has spots for everything and 4 bookmarks. I'm so glad I didn't try to make one for myself- this is way better than anything that I could have done!!

And finally, a sign that explains the condition of my house to anyone who doesn't know me...(click on it to read it clearly)

This was a FANTABULOUS package. Valsped, you ROCK!!!
