looks like I missed a couple on the corner
no, that is only because they aren't mounted, mounted on something rigid they won't flex & put down those distant corners Smiley. I got some wooden shapes in a mixed bag at the dollar store & will be mounting all my hand carved stamps soon.

Thanks, Penlowe! Now, I feel better Wink

What do you use to adhere the stamps to the wood blocks?

This is such a great idea! Cool fabrics, too! I hate tucking the pen inside, since it always falls out, and when I clip it onto the edge, it always pops off.

Does it have an elastic band around the back side, or is it custom fit for each journal? I think I'll be making one or two of these pretty soon! Thanks for sharing!

PlumCrafty- It looks so cool the way you colored and stamped it!  I had only tested it out using black (And, after I tested it, I thought I cleaned up all of the stray marks, but it looks like I missed a couple on the corner. Sorry!) I like how you over-stamped the smaller blocks onto the larger one- I never would have thought of doing that. Hmmm...I might have to make myself one like it now Wink

Thanks for the tips about the eyes, gals! Now, I just need to wait a bit so I can order some.

And, KimsCozyKitchen, thanks for the advice! But, I just got an e-mail from their dad and he said that one of the girls got a DS for Christmas has been using the DS case that I made for her brother last Christmas and would probably love one of her own. So, I think I'll make them Poppets for Christmas, instead. That should give me plenty of time!

"I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by." - Douglas Adams

Love this! I must put it somewhere prominent...

I think I will start on my tote this weekend. A friend of mine slipped on the ice and broke her ankle in a million peices. (6 screws and a plate) I'm going to help with the kids and cooking and we are all going to make welcome home signs for our boys returning from Afghanistan.

I just broke my ankle yesterday, and it hurts like hadies.  They can't do anything until Monday, and I was supposed to go into physical therepy this morning...but apparently they aren't working today.  @# @#$%@#%@#$ @$#@#$@#$@#$! @$##%$!#@**/*//*/*/*/*/)(*&^%$##@@#$%^&#%$#^%$#*^&^%#%#&%@%$#!!!!%$#@&*(&*&*(&**

Please forgive my language.

Ouch! Bad language forgiven. Take care of yourself (with the help of your friends) this weekend Wink

I just absolutely love the yarns that you use to get such adorable fuzziness in your critters. And, I wish I had the time to make about 100 of these for the first graders in my school who are learning about penguins right now. Just too cute...

I'm never done with anything early. I'm  procrastinor...

I am definitely a "deadline worker" (sounds much better than procrastinator...which just makes me sound lazy Wink )...I have an uncanny knack for knowing almost exactly how long a task will take me, and then I push it off until I have almost exactly that much time left...doesn't leave much room for screw-ups though Wink

Thanks....and Thanks Smiley I just typed books into google images and it was one that came up.

Thanks! I found it! Now I just need to figure out what to do with it Wink

Even more fantastic, you are! Thanks again for sharing this pattern! I have some Yoda fleece to edge for a blanket for my brother and I think a Yoda doll would be the perfect thing to go with it (although I do fear that it may become a dog toy...).

Does making a t-shirt quilt count as a re-con? Or a tote bag or drawstring backpack (or a lunch bag...how funny would a Korn shirt be for toting around your lunch?) from a t-shirt? I know that my 8th grade students always had the funniest t-shirts (which I laughed at right before I sent them to the office to get something more "school appropriate" Wink ). And, middle school kids grow so fast, they might have a ton of favorites...

Also, you could show them how to make a t-shirt into a tank (the skinny strap kind that my students were not allowed to wear but tried to wear anyway).

Some kids might like the take a pair of pants and add huge triangular panels to the sides kind of re-con. Or turn a pair of pants into a skirt.
