Oooooh...you're starting to scare me off! I'm more of a beginnner when it comes to carving...

But I still want to do it!

I'll be on Christmas break, and, theoretically I should be done with all of my Christmas gifts, so I'll have plenty of time to carve!

Holy moly, this sounds delicious!! It sounds like a lot of worth, but it also sounds like it would be worth the effort!

But, what are panko bread crumbs? Crumbs made out of panko bread? I don't know what panko bread is... Wink  Off to do a search...

ETA: Ahh, now I know! I'll have to look in the Asian section of the grocery store...
7433  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: knitting needle and crochet hook roll-a-long on: November 28, 2007 06:05:26 PM
Thank you so much for starting this! And, a double thank you for posting links to tutorials!!

I had bought the Stitch N' Bitch book for the needle roll pattern because I had planned to make one for my SIL for Christmas. Then, I was going to give her the needle roll and the book. But, when I saw her knitting this weekend, she was using circular needles, and I didn't think to ask if she used straight needles. So, since I know she uses circulars, I'm going to make her one of those instead. So, in the next couple of weeks, I'll be posting a completed needle roll! Wink

And, all of the ones that you folks have completed so far are lovely and inspiring! Maybe when I'm done with my SIL's, I'll make myself a crochet hook roll...much needed it is!

Whoo-hoo! Thanks so much for the pattern! Now, instead of making my sister-in-law a needle roll (since I'm not sure if she uses straight needles or circulars), I think I'm going to make her this scarf instead. Thanks again!

7436  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Post your unusual flower pictures here! on: November 28, 2007 02:38:35 PM
craftADDchick: It's a celosia. I love those flowers! They remind me of coral. I love your pic.

Thanks for the info (and the compliment)! I saw the flower one day, and almost missed the bus the next day because I was too busy taking pictures.

Even better, Celosia is also known as Cock's Comb. I used a dark burgundy variety of it in my wedding flowers (alongside orange circus roses and pink dahlias). It looked awesome (I'll dig up some pictures), but  got quite a few raised eyebrows when people asked what it was and I cheerfully chirped, "Cock's Comb!"

Ooooh! I bet it looked beautiful! And, thanks for the common name info. I'll have to look it up to see if I can grow it around here (central MA).

And, I love looking at all of these beautiful photos!! Makes me long for spring...

Okay, I had to post one! I took this picture at an RV park just outside of Washington, D.C. this summer. I have no idea what it is, but it was so funky looking!

7438  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Dinner napkins on: November 27, 2007 06:07:35 PM
What a cute set of napkins! Now you've got me thinking...I could make a unique napkin for each person at the table. The trick will be finding the right fabrics! Oh, the joy of the hunt! Wink

Thanks for sharing!

calluna- I love the fabric on the bag, and I love the messages on your shirts!

bettykate- Those magnets are so cute and clever! I love the fabric and flowers on the purse and the stitch markers are neat- what kind of rings are those, dizzylizzy?

snarkymarmoset- You were spoiled! I love it all! And, I agree- stitching the examples right onto the embroidery card directions is genius!

Ameythestlily- I love your hat and holders, and I love that you got sweaters for your dogs. How cute!

PS- I'll be posting pics of my shirt from SaccharineSunshine04 as soon as my camera battery finishes charging!
7440  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along on: November 27, 2007 03:53:19 PM
Oh my goodness! You guys have been so busy! I love all of the recent Poppet additions. Love the boy, Le Tigre, the undies, the boots, the sandals, the hair choices...everything!!

I'm totally supposed to be working on a swap right now, but I had other details to attend to, so I'll be working for the next 3 nights on my swap. Then, this weekend, I might have some time to start my Poppet!
