7381  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ FEB on: February 12, 2008 06:54:22 PM
Thanks, pjherbert! I used a J hook for both of my squares, but I've still had to add rounds to each. Two rounds of double crochet for this one. I can live with it, though- I'm afraid to use an even larger hook (I have a K...but I don't want it to be too large).

And, I'm hoping that that storm gets me out of school tomorrow Wink

But, we'll probably have a delay. Only good thing about that is that we don't have to make it up!

But, I could really use the crafting time...

I finished! Well, I just need to weave in the ends, but I'll do that tomorrow. It's Simply Soft Victorian Rose and Off White. And, putting the chains in (I tried it one more time with the hook) after it was all crocheted seemed to work better- it stayed flatter while I was putting the chains on.

Now, to go and work on my March '07 square Wink

Selnith, I really like the red/black contrast!

I didn't get to finish up my square on Sunday, and last night, after a 12 hour day at work, I was in no mood to try. I think I'll give it a go now, so hopefully I can post a finished square in about an hour!

Hmmm...I can try! I usually just click on the link in my e-mail... I'll go see what I can do!

It would be neat if you joined- most of the projects are scrapbook heavy, which isn't my thing. You could take folks in a new direction!

ETA: Here it is: But I think that you have to join to see the pics...

I have one! After I saw racky's awesome little books, I ordered one right before Christmas (little gift to myself). I took it out of the box, ooh-ed and ahh-ed over it, and had to put it away to finish my gifts. I will be giving it a shot over vacation in a few short days (or, if we do have a snow day tomorrow). I also joined a Yahoo group for it, and there are a bunch of examples of things that people have made. The moderator is also great at answering questions (she's the gal I bought mine from).

Apparently, there is a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it's a piece of cake!

Ooooh! Pretty! It looks nice in lavender, too! I think I just have one more round to add. I did one extra, but I haven't measured yet...putting off the inevitable, I suppose Smiley
