7351  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap FOCR (Signups CLOSED, Sendouts 7/2/08) on: June 05, 2008 06:08:30 PM
Well said, Homerof2! And, I'd be happy to have anything posted so far (or know the perfect gift recipient!).

I'm wishing that June 22nd would hurry up and get here... especially since it is 3 days after school gets out so I'll just be starting vacation Wink

Uh-oh! Now, I'm nervous! I just checked the DC# and it was miraculously updated...it was processed in Milwaukee about an hour ago... I wonder how far ZK lives from there...

Awesome packages! Once again, I am sad that this swap is ending...

I will keep my eyes peeled for round 2...

Oooooh! I like the frog pendant! I will definitely be trying fusing soon... I spend way too much $$ on pendants made by others, when I could make so many cool ones on my own! The little pouch it came in is sweet, too!

I'm hoping that my partner, our lovely organizer, gets my package tomorrow! I checked the DC# and it was very uninformative...

I won't be home tomorrow until late, late, late (in fact, late enough that it can almost be classified as early Wink ), so I won't be able to check until sometime Saturday...close to noon, probably! Can't wait to see more cool stuff!

I would love to get one but I can only imaging myself doing shrinkedinks and window seals (once a year). What else can you use a heat gun for? They are about $30 right?

Hmmm... I also do rubber stamping, so I use it for embossing. But, I've also used it to make beads out of plastic bottles, and to make the upside down planter (from a 2 liter soda bottle) and once I used it to warm up the aluminum door in the middle of winter when I broke the glass- the duct tape wouldn't stick to the aluminum, so I warmed it up! Mine comes in pretty handy for a lot of things, actually Wink

And, I bought it with a coupon for either 40 or 50% off. They usually run about $20 from a craft store. I don't have a heavy duty one from the hardware store...

OK,OK,OK.....I did a shrinky last night that I was hoping would be "the ONE" (hehe) and It started out as 5 inches by 3 inches. It didnt melt flat and now there is a bullseye shaped wiggly spot in the middle.-The middle stuck and the edges didnt. It is mostly flat -2 by 1 inches now- but I want it to be very very flat. I tried popping it back in the oven-no luck. Anybody?

I used to have this same problem, so that's why I switched over to my heat gun, I have much better control over it...

I bet he'll love it! You'll have to post some action shots if you can get 'em!
Yeah, the things I could do with decent yarn!

And, I didn't mean to imply that you flounder wasn't a proper color! They come in a wide variety of colors. I love the one you made! I just get carried away sometimes Tongue Hope I didn't offend you!
7359  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Free Form CAL - All instructions now on Pg1 on: June 03, 2008 06:21:49 PM
I just came across this today. And, I think I might have to join in. At first, I was wondering how free-form could have "directions," but then I realized that it was just the crutch I needed to break away from nice and orderly crochet. So, once school ends in 2 weeks!!!!, I'll be able to get started. Fortunately, I found it early enough that I won't be too far behind Wink

Plus, each days directions take maybe 5 minutes at the most, if you have your stash at hand and know the stitch.

I have a bunch of yarn that was donated to my classroom when I was teaching my 7th grade homeroom how to crochet. I took it home last summer and it has just been taking up space. I think it'll be the perfect stash for this project. And, it's good to know that it's such a quick job! I might even be able to get started this weekend!
