Ooooh! As the recipient of said hat, I am happy to wait! I shocked my kids by taking them outside today (paper airplane tests) and tomorrow we're going out to hunt slime molds (yes, you read that correctly!). Fortunately, it was cloudy so I didn't really need a sunhat. I guarantee that the hat will get plenty of use right away!
And, yarnhag, I hear you on the cold and the need for naps. I had one recently and was exhausted for 2 weeks. So, hopefully you can kick it in the butt soon! Take care!
The box from the pirate box is fantastic, and the goodies inside are great (love the parrot!). And the pirate missive is neat- I would have burned it completely on my first 3 attempts, so I am impressed with your results!
The scarf in a box is such a great idea, especially now that the warmer weather (here, anyway) is upon us. Nothing like a scarf and some hair doo-dads to keep those wisps of hair in place while outside enjoying the spring breezes (and occasional gales)!
And, while, I'm not a beach going person usually, I love the summer-in-a-box. I relly like the sun on the top of the box. And, that beach bag is fabulous! What nice summery colors you chose!
Now, I really can't wait for my box...only 4-10 days to go!
Wow! First of all, I'm a bit jealous of your awesome living accomodations! Growing up on the coast, the idea of a houseboat-type thing has always fascinated me.
I think your organization techniques are superb for the space that you have. Everything in reach, yet tucked out of the way.
And, here's hoping that you get a desiganted space when the renovations are completed! Think of all of the cool things you could sew to decorate your abode! Plus, you need to make some way cool clothing appropriate for entertaining. I'll be checking out your blog to see how things are progressing
ETA: Okay, I just read through your blog and I'm a bit less jealous - What a load of hard work (and the bit about your first attempt at a crossing was heartbreaking) you've dealt with so far! Fortunately, you don't have to go it alone, which is so much nicer! Here's hoping the obstacles become smaller as the project progresses!
I overheard a couple of kids in homeroom (I teach 7th grade) talking about ATHF, and I logged onto Craftster to show them Master Shake! I also showed them the Meatwad hat that someone made somewhere on Craftster, and they liked that, too! They were pretty impressed that I knew what it was, and think I should make a Master Shake for my desk.
I sent too! My postage was $36! It's because I stuck in a couple of boxes of freezer paper for Phizzychick, and not because I crafted too many things! Now, I just have to patiently wait 5-10 days for it to arrive...it's a good thing I don't bite my nails or there'd be nothing left!
I enjoyed my theme so much- I hope you love it even half as much as I do, Phizzychick!
Oooooh! Darn! Just when I was going to swear off swaps for a bit!
Okay, I'll do this, but I have to give myself a rule: everything I make must come from my bountiful stash! And sorry starfish13, I don't have a caddisfly larva in my stash (which is too bad, because I've seen the jewelry made from them, and I totally want one!!)
Actually, the timing for this one is great! I am in a few swaps right now (okay, 5), but I''ve already sent on one, am sending on another tomorrow, and should be sending on a third (and possibly a fourth) by next Monday. So, my swap duties should be relatively light! Plus, school is starting to wind down, so late may into June is perfect!
steen- One reason that I haven't attempted this bag is because I didn't like the handles at all. The other reason is because I wasn't sure my crochet skills could tackle it. But, I love your modification and my crochet skills are improving, so I may be attempting this in the near future. And I love your lining fabric!
I've received a donation for the Habitat auction, and got word that another bundle of goodies will be on its way. My own creation is still in the trunk of my car waiting to be transformed. I need to do some sanding and painting, but with rain for most of my vacation, I couldn't go outside to do it. It'll be done by next weekend.
