7321  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 6/9/07 - Craftster got a face lift! on: June 23, 2007 11:14:16 AM
I couldn't figure out why I was still seeing the dots...and then I dusted off the screen...

And, now that I've had a chance to cruise the site more, I love it even more (although I still wish I could organize my bookmarks better Wink )!

I really like how clean the home page is, and the new graphic icons are great too! I haven't encountered any glitches that I didn't already have (but I think those are just computer issues, not site issues- sometimes when I hit back to go to "New Replies to Your Posts" it either gets rid of all of the posts, or shows only one, or something like that. When I hit refresh, it's all good).

So thanks again for making Craftster such a fun place to visit!
7322  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Fishbones in Fused Glass! on: June 23, 2007 11:05:49 AM
So, this is what happens when the cat gets to the one that was in the fishbowl?  Wink

I like the white on black- looks very pirate-y! Plus, the contrast shows off the bones nicely!
7323  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Mermaid on: June 23, 2007 10:57:46 AM
she is adorable. i think she should deffinatly have arms though! lol when i first saw the picture without reading the title or anything i thought it was a crochet....umm...well....male genetal organ (if you get my drift) in awesome colours. i mean that in itself would be pretty awesome but since it's supposed to be a mermaid i think arms might stop certain people from seeing the wrong thing Tongue

I have to agree 100%. And mermaids do have arms, so it makes sense this way,too...
7324  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: What my yr4 class are spinning on: June 23, 2007 06:05:04 AM
This is such a neat idea! And the beauty of it is that each kid can take a turn (or a spin) and not get bored or overwhelmed by the whole project!

How old are yr4 kids? When I saw the title, I was thinking High School, until I saw the multiplication tables Wink

I'll be watching to see the progress!

This is lovely! I think it's so neat how you pulled together so many of the skills that you (and your husband) can do. It brings 'hand crafted' to a whole new level!
7326  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: "the Founding Fathers: a portrait of liberty" BOOK! (shitloads of imgs) on: June 23, 2007 05:49:07 AM
I have never been much of a history fan, but this book cracks me up! I've enjoyed seeing the pages as they were coming along, so thanks for sharing the finished product!

Very nicely done!!
7327  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: TUTORIAL: Singlet Style Shopping Bag (like the plastic shopping bag) on: June 22, 2007 05:59:54 PM
Well, I went to the fabric store to get some fabric to make myself a set of these and it ended up costing me almost $150! I bought everything on sale, and was doing okay until this lady in line asked me what I was making, and when I said "Bags!" she said,
"Why aren't you making them out of the clearance fabrics that are 50% off?"

So, after I had my original fabrics cut, I moseyed on over to the clearance section and bought a TON of fabric! I had a bunch of bolts and was only going to get 2 yards of each (at $1.50 a yard with the sale), but then...I took what was left on the bolt for most of them. I just can't resist a bargain!

So, I'll be making my original set next week and then seeing what else I can come up with using all of the other fabric I bought!
7328  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Attention All the Real Ladies Out There! I Need Your Input! Slightly offensive! on: June 22, 2007 05:52:24 PM
If you have your heart set on the "fart" one...

How about, "Real ladies say 'Excuse me!' on the front of a shirt and
...after they fart on the back.

Kind of makes it a little bit less shocking, I think...and real ladies do, after all, have good manners...
7329  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: motif blanket on: June 22, 2007 04:32:02 AM
Hmmm...this gives me incentive to try out more things (but I do have other projects to finish first!). Now I won't feel like I have to crochet a jillion blocks of a pattern to make an afghan. Making a bunch of different blocks/motifs suits my personality much better, and because they look like they are on the small side, I can get them done quickly!

And, I love how you incorporated the round and square motif's together- it looks fantastic! Great color choices too!
7330  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: dewy the slooooooooooow duck on: June 22, 2007 04:23:19 AM
Is there a chance that you could post a pic to show what his feet/legs look like? I'd like to branch out from rounded stump-like amigurumi feet Wink

Here's the pattern of the leg:
