These are both adorable! How long does it take to print them? And, did you  have a cluster of the birds and then repeat that image, or a single bird printed over and over...and over...

That Darwin stuffie rocks! I'd have to have a whole collection of scientist stuffies if I had that...it would have started an obsession... I love the octopus painting, and where did you find the pinhole camera? Love all of the little magnets, too!

Such wonderful stuff!

Love the alien microbes! And the brain tapestry is awesome...and a great reminder Wink

How does the DNA code get used to spell out names? Do you use the abbreviations for the names of the amino acids? I'd love to know- I'd finally be able to use up that stash of alphabet beads!
7274  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Oreo balls/bombs/delicious bits of bliss on: May 23, 2008 06:27:21 PM

WOW, so many possibilities!!  It's probably bad that I'm craving all of those at nearly 8 in the morning now, too. Cheesy

The baby is craving them...really!

And, I have to go to something tomorrow night and bring a "snack" so I have the perfect excuse to make some of these! And the best part is, that I'll be able to eat a few, but then I'll have to share them, so I won't eat the whole batch myself Wink
7275  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 50+ Wash Cloths-along on: May 23, 2008 05:43:57 PM
I had to stop at the craft store today to pick up a t-shirt I need to stencil this weekend, and somehow that 5 for $10 shirt ended up costing me $50!

I swear that all of that yarn just jumped into my arms...really! Good thing I'm not married and don't have to come up with actual excuses for explaining excessive craft shopping to my husband...

I did pick up another ball of SnC Twists...and I'll be using it soon... As soon as I finish weaving in all of the ends from the last one I made Tongue

I forget how exactly you're going to make this into a cookbook.  You're goign to print out the recipes on paper, then color copy it when it's pressed against the felt page?

The plan is to scan the page, then go into paint shop and add the recipe there. Although my scanner isn't showing the true colors as well, so I've been taking pictures of them for the last 2.

Whew! I thought you were really insane and you were going to embroider the recipes...

Now, I love this idea even more!! Such fantastic work!

Hey Giz! Welcome to the crochet-along! Your cloth looks pretty darn good to me- your edges are waaaaayyy neater than mine Wink

When I first re-learned how to crochet (on my own after having been taught about 20 years earlier), I was putting the hook in the wrong spot (either the front or back loop only) and I ended up with a lovely ribbed texture. And then I realized that I was doing it wrong...and re-learned again...only to find out later that putting the hook into the front or back loop is an actual technique...to add a lovely ribbed texture (in most cases)!
