7201  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Buy Nothing Swap Gallery on: December 03, 2007 11:26:07 AM
And, I finally found my battery charger and located the cable for my camera, so here is a picture of the shirt that SaccharineSunshine04 made for me. I love the color!

Thanks, SaccharineSunshine! As soon as it warms up around here, I'll be wearing it! Wink

I received from Moonoverbrooklyn today!! And I just love it all!

Forgive the abundance of pictures...most of the items required a close-up Wink

Nice things come in small packages! When I opened the box, everything was wrapped or tied in pretty ribbons (and some cool heart elastic) with notes attached:

The first thing I opened was a package that was labeled as "made especially for you...but not waterproof." Three slide pendants that are just AWESOME!!

#1- My name in binary code:

#2- A Bacillus laterosporus made with batik fabric:

#3- A diffusion pendant- the beads move to actually demonstrate how diffusion works:

Then, there were a couple of maginfying specimen boxes:

And an adorable mudskipper stuffie!! It's so cute that I keep hugging it!

And, because I was able to locate a shirt out my way that was out of stock in her area, she got me a bundle of beautiful batik fabrics!!

Thank you so much Moon, I love it all!! Grin

7203  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Re: Succulent Wreath on: December 03, 2007 10:46:52 AM
This is such a cool idea! I may have to give this a go when the weather warms back up. Unfortunately, I'll have to get my plants at the garden shop...no succulents growing in the neighborhood! But, it'll have to be a gift for my sister- she has a lot of luck with succulents, whereas I have almost none...

Thanks for sharing!
7204  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along on: December 03, 2007 10:40:44 AM
Oh, more adorable Poppets! I'll be getting to mine soon. Just a few more lingering obligations to get out of the way...like Christmas presents Wink

I love Leonardo! I think he should wear jeans and a leather jacket- he's way too cool looking for schoolboy shorts! BUT, I think he also needs a velvet robe and gold crown...he is the King of the Jungle, after all...

And I also love the daVinci idea!
7205  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: The YUMMIEST & HEALTHIEST Thai Fish Cakes EVER!!!!! on: December 03, 2007 08:31:34 AM
This sounds (and looks) delicious! Except I tried canned salmon once and couldn't deal with all of the bones...but I do have a fish market right around the corner. I'll have to locate some green curry paste. I really do need to spend more time in the international aisle at the grocery store Wink

Oooh, that is small! I've never made one before, but I can just imagine how hard it was to work in that size...
7207  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Handmade rubber stamps swap??? on: December 02, 2007 06:17:23 PM
Okay, I'm supposed to be finishing up an item for another swap, but my sewing machine is acting up, so I am free to offer up my opinion...

I really like the idea of sending one stamp each to 3 partners. I think it would be much more fun to get stamps from a bunch of people! And, stamps wouldn't cost, much to mail, so it wouldn't be a huge expense with postage to send to 3 people instead of one...

Okay, hopefully the gremlin in my machine has wandered off to mess with something else...and I'll deal with that mess later... Wink
7208  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crochet Squared Messenger Bag on: December 02, 2007 02:30:43 PM
This bag is so neat looking! I love your idea of putting holes and eyelets into the fabric and then crocheting into them. I may have to try this on a smaller scale.
7209  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Buy Nothing Swap Gallery on: December 02, 2007 02:22:53 PM
littlebluegirl- I really like the button necklace, and Im not a huge fan of buttons Wink The plushies are cute and the drawings are amazing! As for what you sent, I love the sketchbook! The cat cloth is cute, as is the felted clutch. The dreamcatcher is pretty- it looks tiny, thoughis it?
7210  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Handmade rubber stamps swap??? on: December 02, 2007 02:17:23 PM
Thanks, balkandina and babbetto for the encouragement!

As for what to make the stamps out of, maybe we could have "traditional" stamps, but have an option to add in a cork stamp or an impression stamp or two as a bonus.
