7201  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Chickens *** more img's added on: March 18, 2008 02:03:15 PM
Very, very cute! And, thanks for posting the pattern link. I like the modifications that you made because it makes it look more finished (although I don't get what ch st 4 means...how it works, really).

Sorry about the fuzzy directions.  Basically after you finish the body you slip stitch into the first chain stitch at the bottom of the body (the first ch st of the project).  Chain 4 then single stitch into the next chain stitch on the body (repeat until you get all the way back to the first chain stitch).  Slipstitch into the first chain stitch on the body.  Finish off by tucking in the loose yarn.

Does that make sense?

I just tried to quickly explain and did a poor job, LOL.

It makes perfect sense! I thought it might be something like that, but I wasn't sure if there was a new technique I needed to learn. Thanks for explaining Wink

Very cute! I'll have to make one of these soon! And, a blank one would be a lot of fun as well. Thanks for sharing it!

Dragon*Fly, your dishcloths came out great! I like the Twists yarn you used, too. I haven't seen that color yet. I also like how the pattern came out with the Landscape yarn- kind of looks like part of a DNA strand Wink

I was able to work on one yesterday (Bark Sedge) while waiting for perpetually late friends. I was prepared, so I sat in in the car in the parking lot of a restaurant and crocheted until they arrived. And, I should be able to do some more tomorrow- I have a meeting that ends at 2:30 and then I have to tutor at 4:00. So, I have a chunk of time to...sit in the car in the parking lot and crochet!

I'm so glad that more folks have joined in! But, I still might get left in the dust Wink
7205  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Science/Math geek Swap Gallery on: March 17, 2008 03:59:01 PM
I love the DNA bag! It's beautifully subtle- it's totally geeky, but only to those in the know, and it is so pretty! The needle roll is also fabulous! The package was definitely worth the wait!

Thanks! The pattern is just great! And, I love how they each have little personalities when their eyes and nose/mouth get added, and then even more personality when the ears get stitched on. It's almost a shame to knock them over Wink

inkberry, that cloth looks great! I haven't tried the Bark Sedge, yet. I think I'll have to make that one #6. I love the look of the Summer Splash, but I don't think I have any. I'll have to dig through my rather large pile of Sugar n' Cream...
7209  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Anyone else stamp onto photos? on: March 15, 2008 06:30:11 PM
I'm going to have to search through my huge box of photos to see if I have anything that I could use so I can try this. Or, even simpler, I may just tote the camera around and snap pics of suitable images.

I love this idea!

These are so cute and you've captured the expressions on your little bunnies perfectly! And, I love how you used the pattern from the fabric for their ears on the stamp as well. Excellent!
