7201  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: motif blanket on: June 22, 2007 04:32:02 AM
Hmmm...this gives me incentive to try out more things (but I do have other projects to finish first!). Now I won't feel like I have to crochet a jillion blocks of a pattern to make an afghan. Making a bunch of different blocks/motifs suits my personality much better, and because they look like they are on the small side, I can get them done quickly!

And, I love how you incorporated the round and square motif's together- it looks fantastic! Great color choices too!
7202  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: dewy the slooooooooooow duck on: June 22, 2007 04:23:19 AM
Is there a chance that you could post a pic to show what his feet/legs look like? I'd like to branch out from rounded stump-like amigurumi feet Wink

Here's the pattern of the leg:

Thanks cold.dinner!
7203  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: TUTORIAL: Singlet Style Shopping Bag (like the plastic shopping bag) on: June 21, 2007 08:02:09 PM
Oh, I am definitely making some of these! I have to hit the fabric store on my way home tomorrow, so I guess I'll be picking up some fabric for a set of these! And, I think I'll make a little zippered pouch (lined of course Wink ) to carry them all in!

Thanks again for posting such a neat project!

CraftADDchick, I love your frog avatar Smiley

That'd be great! I could use the extra time, especially since I'm supposed to also be crafting for my first craft fair on July 7th.
7207  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: DIY KIT round 9. (Sign ups Closed; Send Outs extended to 06/july/07) on: June 21, 2007 02:20:00 PM
I have all of the materials for one of my kits, but need a couple of items for the other two. I'll be working on the first kit soon and sending that out. Then, since the other two are a bit more labor intensive, and going to the same person, I'll tackle those next.
7208  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - JUNE on: June 21, 2007 02:17:45 PM

I'm still working on June's squares and can't stand the feeling of being 'behind'.

Hmmmm...I know how you feel! Wink

I'd be up for extending the sendout date, too. School got out on Monday, but I had to pack up my classroom. I then found out that I was going to get to stay in my room, so I had to unpack what I had packed and put back everything I had taken out in preparation to pack. I'm happy to be staying in my room, so I'm not complaining, but it did eat into my crafting time, and I still have at least one more day of room clean-up to go!
7210  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Owl Swap Round 4 Gallery! on: June 21, 2007 02:09:03 PM

skamperdans- That handmade owl bead is fantastic! What did you make it out of? I love how you did his belly! And, I love the owl cards. I hope we get to see all of them!*sigh* I wish I could draw...

Thank you!  The bead is made out of super sculpey and than painted with pink & white acrylics with a couple coats of glaze.

I have a couple pic's of drawings from the preliminary sketches so here you go...and I think everyone can draw you just need to give it a try!

Thanks for the info on the bead and thanks for posting the sketches for the other cards. They look awesome as rough sketches, too!

And, my sister is an artist and she says that drawing is a skill that can be learned. I'm still on the fence about that, but then I've never taken the time to actually learn- junior high art was not my favorite class, and it kind of put me off of drawing and painting. One of these days, I'll find a kind and patient teacher to help me out!
