7181  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Owl Swap Round 4. Signups April 12-May 2. Send-outs June 10! SIGNUPS CLOSED! on: June 10, 2007 05:27:30 AM
I am officially done! My large project took way longer than 4 1/2 hours to complete, but it came out pretty good, so it was worth the time. Of course, I never touched the very LARGE stack of papers that I have to grade, and I have to have my term and end of year grades done by Friday...but it was still worth it!

I just need to pack it all up and it will be in the mail tomorrow afternoon!
7182  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Design Your Own Granny-along on: June 09, 2007 07:18:58 PM
Ooooh! I love the lady bug! That will make such a cute afghan!

I have my square idea, but I haven't tried it yet. And I've never written out instructions for crochet before, so I'm a little nervous!

I love the new look! The color scheme is fabulous, and the cork board backround is fabulous!

7184  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: El Cicln Panzn luchador amigurumi! on: June 09, 2007 08:05:41 AM
LOL! And very few things make me do that!  Grin The details are perfect!! And, also something else I seldom do...hitting "This Rocks!"

I have a friend who is into wrestling (and probably owns a copy of Nacho Libre) and I bet if I made him one, he'd put it in his classroom as a mascot...

Something to work on over the summer...
7185  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: From giant men's shirt to stylish tunic!(NOW WITH TUTE!) on: June 09, 2007 07:44:21 AM
This is great! Lately, my thrift store shopping has been all about craft supplies- this shirt would make a great purse fabric, this one would make a great lining, etc. Now I have another use for large men's shirts with cool patterns. Thanks for sharing!
7186  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Owl Swap Round 4 Gallery! on: June 08, 2007 08:22:00 PM
Well, since I'm waiting for some glue to dry on my large object, I figured I'd take the time to check out the gallery. This has been a crazy week, and my Craftster (and crafting) time has been limited!

Tazzell- Your package to AmaZing is fabulous!! I love the stencilled shirt and note cards- what great images! And the coin purse is a riot. The details on the stuffie are fantastic and I adore the cross stitch that your daughter did- it's so cute and she did a great job on it!

h_pets360- I love the silkscreened towel and the owl pouch is great. I especially love the very cute owl fabrics- I couldn't find any owl fabrics.

ViolinRomance-Your package from funthreads is great! The little owl stuffies just make me laugh and the color choices are great (I'm not so bold with fabric choices). And all of the embroidered items are fantastic- I love and covet the jumper...and the luggage tags...and the clutch! And the notecards are just wow!!
7187  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - JUNE on: June 08, 2007 07:57:26 PM
I'm late Roll Eyes. Here are my unblocked May squares :

You're not too late! I'm still working on my November easy square!

And your squares came out fabulous! After November, I think I may jump ahead and do the butterfly square- I just love it!
7188  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Owl Swap Round 4. Signups April 12-May 2. Send-outs June 10! SIGNUPS CLOSED! on: June 08, 2007 07:55:05 PM
I haven't heard anything from my partner since May 21st, so I hope it is understandable if I don't send by the send out date.
I don't know what to do, as of now.

Has she still been inactive? I hope nothing serious happened to her...

As silly as it sounds, just in case something happens to me and I am out of commission and computer range for a while, I always want to leave a note for someone that says, "In case of emergency, please contact my swap partner to let them know that I haven't flaked..." I haven't done that yet, because it would mean that I have totally given over to swap anxiety... Wink

If I miss the post office tomorrow, I'll have extra time to make another item for my partner...I could make two sets and send one to you as a "mini angel" or a consolation prize since you didn't send to her yet...

I figured that while I was waiting for some spray adhesive to dry and de-fume, I'd look at Craftster for a bit...so relaxing...

And, I am feeling better about how my revised large item-which is smaller in size now, but still large in effort- is coming out. Of course, I've only done the first step. The next step is the killer step...at least it was on the original version...

I may add one more item in the morning just to make up for anything my partner thinks is high on the "ick" factor...even though I love everything I've made so far...  Wink

Okay...fumes must be gone by now...but since I sprayed it on the porch with the door open, there may be some bugs stuck to it...
7190  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: engineering needle storage (pic fiesta- ole!) on: June 08, 2007 06:35:35 PM
I just love the physics textbook hook holder! Geeky and crafty all rolled into one...does it get any better than that?  Wink
