Very nice looking squares, Horse Power! I really like your color choices!

those are beautiful, would love to see them a bit closer up, but i completely understand camera problems!

Well, I can post the pics I have, but bear in mind that any flaws in the images are the fault of the photographer, not my awesome partner!

Your tutorial was just the ticket for a project that I am working on. It was all squares and straight stitches, but some of the pieces were too tiny to work with. This made it so much easier!

Thanks again for such a great tutorial!

Oooooh! Pretty!

It's so cool that you got to put one of your whimsies to use in such a lovely way!

AlternaWidget- You put together a beautiful package! It's such a bummer that parts of it were confiscated (I can understand their concerns in terms of invasives species, however- some plants can regenerate from fragments of the plant, so unless the bird's nest was plastic, it would be unknown plant matter...which totally, totally sucks!), but hopefully the awesome dodecahedron can be reclaimed!!

I received my package from the_trademarks today, and I am totally bummed that I couldn't have sent her package out at the same time. I am going to be waiting on the doorstep of the sewing machine repair shop first thing tomorrow...because if he can fix it quickly, I could actually make the PO by tomorrow afternoon...I am that close to finishing!!

So, let me just say, whoever said that nice things come in small packages wasn't entirely accurate...FANTASTIC things come in small packages!

I am totally into geeky science jewlery, and my partner came through big time!

I don't have any good close-ups...I can try later if anyone wants, but they came out all blurry, even with the macro setting (where is that darn camera instruction manual??). So, a group shot will have to do, unfortunately!

The green earrings are made with triangular and hexagonal tree agate, with round lodolite beads. The other pair is made with rose quartz and bleached mother of pearl. Just beautiful!!

In the middle are two resin on wood pendants- a brain and a cool image that is actually a picture of coagulation. I just love the subtle geekiness of it!

Above that is a cartoon from a 1972 issue of Science World magazine Wink

And finally, two fused glass pieces with dichroic glass in them. One of them even has a small painted glass flask in it!

She included a letter typed on an actual typewriter to explain what everything is. I love it all!!!

Thanks so much, Jasmine!

Bummer! It looks like it is lit up in the first photo. I thought you might have tucked a little battery in at the top of the bulb.

I guess it is safe to wear, at least Wink

Esjay- You are amazing! Not only do your squares look great, and your color choices are superb, you can crank those babies out at light speed! I've only just saved the pattern Wink

Way cool! How does it get its "juice?" And don't you have to worry about shocking yourself when you wear it?
7109  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 50+ Wash Cloths-along on: May 01, 2008 03:43:37 PM
I also hat the chain and first row- I've tried using a larger hook (several sizes, even) and I still have trouble. So, I just crochet into the back loop...not as perfect, but it saves my sanity!

I get what you mean about the calming repetitiveness! I still have to be careful when working a pattern or else I'll screw things up. But, one of these days I'll dig out that queen sized afghan I started a few years back and do some repetitive stitching on that. Lots of double crochet...and now that I know that crocheting into the back loop is an actual technique,  I don't have to admit to anyone else that I didn't know what I was doing at the time Wink Now, I can say that I was adding "texture" to my afghan...

I have yet to try anything wearable (beyond a hat), so I need to challenge myself with that, too!

the_trademarks- Awesome jar of goodies! Love the paper bead necklace/bracelet and the way the ribbon is wrapped!
