6961  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 50+ Wash Cloths-along on: May 22, 2008 06:22:41 PM
Hey Giz! Welcome to the crochet-along! Your cloth looks pretty darn good to me- your edges are waaaaayyy neater than mine Wink

When I first re-learned how to crochet (on my own after having been taught about 20 years earlier), I was putting the hook in the wrong spot (either the front or back loop only) and I ended up with a lovely ribbed texture. And then I realized that I was doing it wrong...and re-learned again...only to find out later that putting the hook into the front or back loop is an actual technique...to add a lovely ribbed texture (in most cases)!

Great math-y goodness there, especially the Pi-rate bag! Ive got the perfect person to make one for And, I cant wait for the close-up on some of the other items!

Such cool little items! Love the little snake, the palm tree, the ice skate, the chicken...

I have the perfect friend to make this for...except she doesn't knit...but her mom does...hmmm...I might have to see if I can get her mom to make me some socks...

Oh, and I just had to report that the pendants that the_trademarks made for me are getting fantastic comments from people at school (staff and students...not bad for elementary kids to be noticing!)...especially when I wore the brain... I had it on a chain that rested just above mid-sternum and someone said, "This is your brain...on boobs..."

Tomorrow I'll be wearing the coagulation pendant! Yay!

That neurotransmitter bracelet is great! And, I love the robot tote! Butthe Mighty Chondria shirtstealing your ideaabsolutely love it

Love the herpes and ear ache stuffies- so cute! And the evolution of man bag is such a neat idea (but youre missing a female form as the final step Wink ). The paintings are pretty cool, tooalthough a jar of eyeballs on the wall would give me the creeps Cheesy

The box of stars is so neat, as are all of the framed pieces! Astronomy and math- a wonderful combination!!

And, waterbaby, thanks for all of the added info! And, after an Esty search the other day, I did end up getting aeronberrys UMAgurumi patterns- they are so awesome!

More awesome jars with fabulous goodies! This swap was so much fun- and I also echo the "awesome organizers!" sentiment!!!

And, I brought home a 1-gallon pickle jar...now to start filling it up with stuff I have scattered all over the house...

I also have a small collection of glow-in-the-dark trinkets. I think they need a jar of their very own Wink
6968  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Fibonacci Pillow (Paper Pieced) on: May 20, 2008 04:51:00 PM
Thanks bunches! It was pretty easy (thanks to the fab tutorial!) once I picked out my fabrics. The teeny squares in the center of the spiral (not visible in the pic, really), moved a tiny bit because I used a too small stitch length and ripped of the pattern (oops!). Bit after that, it really was a piece of cake!

I'm making one for me soon, I think. I want to make a bed-sized one, but I'm limited in the size of the spiral section by the width of the fabric. I should still be able to make a good sized one, however!
6969  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Tony Stark/Iron Man Arc Reactor shirt *IMG Heavy* on: May 19, 2008 05:44:31 PM
I just saw this movie the other night and loved it! I am making my brother one of these for his b-day- thanks for such an awesome idea! And, how brilliant to bleach the shirt first (I never would have thought of that...). And glow-in-the-dark paint...fabulous...

I've never seen one before, so having the tutorial appear here was such a big help! That's the best thing about Craftster- it always opens my eyes to new crafts that I might not have seen in my neck of the woods

I didn't mean about the tutorial, I'm all for those.  You could show me how to draw a straight line and I'd still be for it.  I just ment for the thing about the person getting upset about someone else posting the tutorial first.  We just have to face it.  Just about everything has been done before in some form or another.  Darn Emo kids!!   Tongue

I know what you mean...every time I think of a great idea, I see that someone else has already done it...and made millions Wink

But I still love this bag! Cheesy
