Love your critters, as always!

I will tell you that I spend more time on the clothes than on a poppet, to me, the poppet is easier!  I am sure some other people feel the same way.

I have a feeling that one of those people will be me. I bet I'll be willing to trade a Poppet for clothes!
6953  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Wristlets- Fish and skulls on: December 29, 2007 05:43:28 PM
Joining the ranks to say I love the fish fabric! Where did you find it? And, I really like the key rings. Nicely done with everything!

These are so striking! But, how do you do the watercolor with a straw technique? I've never heard of that before, but I love how it looks!

MonkeyThumb- I do have 4 yards of off white...I'm sure that some of it will end up in the swap...

And, the sewing machine repair guy said he'd try to get my machine done quickly because he knows I have projects to do!

Congrats on the house Zelda.Suicide! And have fun choosing colors! None of my dishcloths match my kitchen. Of course, it could be because the wood is orange and the wallpaper is orange and green. Can you believe someone would choose those colors? Welcome to the 70s!

I loved the Series of Unfortunate Events but, I have to admit, when I read about 6 of them in a row over vacation one year, I did get a bit depressed by them. I've since learned to read them one at a time.  I do love Daniel Handler's sense of humor and I had a chance to go to the book signing in MA, but I passed. One of my students went and was there for over 4 hours! I've read one of his other books, but I loaned it to someone and never got it back. And, somewhere around here, I have another one of his books...need to find that!

Book I liked that I didn't expect to like...hmmmm...I'll have to really think about that. I always start a book expecting to like it Grin, so it's easier for me to name books I expected to like but didn't!
6959  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Christmas Present for Grandma! Black Curacao Shawl on: December 28, 2007 04:03:01 PM
If only I had the pattern lol... Now I will have to look for a similar pattern on one of the free sites Grin
hmmm.... i guess i'm going to have to find that book  Wink

You should check the library- if your local one doesn't carry it, they might be able to get if for you from another one. I guess I should have thought of that myself instead of just buying the book from Amazon! I always forget about the library...free books to borrow and I forget! D'oh!

Astica- I got: Hmmm? (memory), Zzz... (sleep), Aha! (intelligence), Wow! (5 senses), Squirt! (blood), Burp! (eating), Baa! (genes and cloning), Achoo! (germs). I was going to try and order used ones, but I have Amazon Prime so I get free shipping. That, plus the 4-for-3 sale made it worth buying new ones. Now, I just have to make sure I let my students actually touch them Wink

And, vampires totally frighten me! I read 'Salem's Lot (saw the movie on TV as a kid) when I was home from college one summer. The night I finished, I was woken by  a scream from my sister (a nightmare, I think) followed by a flash of lighting, then thunder. All I could imagine was that a vampire was attacking her, and I was so terrified that I couldn't get up to check on my sister! Fortunately, she was alive and well the next morning. I did read several of the books in the Interview With a Vampire Series, but I got a little bored with them. I also just read  You Suck! which was the second in the series (someone let me borrow it), so now I have to go back and read the first one.
